Chronic pain sufferer, only second time in ten+ years script has been stolen, went to er, no help. Actually considering H to help the next 2 weeks but very scared:!

Call the police and file a rapport saying that your script has been stolen. Then contact your doctor and offer him a copy of the police rapport if he doesn't believe you when you say they have been stolen.

It is the oldest trick in the book to say to your doctor that you have lost your script somehow. But sometimes it actually do happen and if you have involved the police this gives your story some credibility. No matter what you should contact the police anyway. I am just pointing out how contacting the police should give you some credibility with your doctor. Especially if you haven't done this often before.

Once before. Sounds whacked but 100% true. Kept meds in lock box in car cause had teens that were stealing. Car caught fire in the driveway, melted to the frame. Had pics of melted script bottles, fire dept and police report. But had actual proof that time. No proof this time exept..they're gone.
And..only one person to point the finger at..my 21yr old daughter that just moved back home

Did you file a police report after you realized it was stolen? By law you are supposed to report it stolen and it also covers your ass in case someone ends up being found dead of a Dilaudid OD and has a bottle with your name on it. No doctor, ER, pharmacy or whatever is going to even look at you until you do atleast that so that would be my first bit of advice right there.

Also how the fuck did you get your script stolen? Much less twice in 10 years. I have been on Opiates (mostly Morphine) for abit over 10 years now for chronic pain and i have never had any of my pills stolen. I treat my Opiate prescriptions the same way i treat my money as in i am not going to loose it very easy at all and someone is going to have to damn well earn it if they try and take it on me. Not to mention saying you left your pills in your car and they got stolen sounds like the equivalent of my dog ate my homework basically. That has been tried by many people who have used their script up early or sold it to get more and every Copper, doctor and pharmacist has probably heard that excuse dozens of times.

As for getting through the next 2 weeks without your Dilaudid withdrawal symptoms can be managed and lucky for you they don't last very long compared to say Morphine withdrawals. I have had some very heavy Dilaudid habits in the past and at my worst i was shooting up 54-72mg's (3 or 4 of the 18mg Hydromorph Contins) at a time atleast 4 times a day and although the withdrawals are very intense to say the least the acute symptoms are usually gone after 5 days or so with the worst of it being the first 3 days.

I would suggest getting some Imodium (generic name Loperamide) which is OTC at any pharmacy. This will help the diarrhea and sometimes the stomach cramps as well. If you can get it Codeine will work just as good as Loperamide for these symptoms and also help some of the other withdrawal symptoms. A Anti-nausea drug is pretty much a must as well and for some reason i found Dilaudid withdrawal to be about the worst for causing vomiting. Dimenhydrinate (brand name Dramamine) is as good as your getting over the counter in the US and it is pretty good at stopping nausea and vomiting due to a few different reasons. Diphenhydramine aka Benadryl is also a anti-nausea drug though i don't find it to work as well as Dimenhydrinate. Thankfully in Canada Promethazine is over the counter under the brand name Histantil (Phenergan in the US) and not only do i find this to be better at stopping nausea and vomiting then Dimenhydrinate and better at stopping runny nose and sneezing then Benadryl but due to it's strong anti-cholinergic and Anti-histamine effects is a pretty good sedative and helps keep me calm and get some sleep. Dimenhydrinate and Promethazine also help with the dizziness that is one annoying symptom of opiate withdrawal. Can you get a Z-hypnotic such as Lunesta or Ambien or a Benzo (the more sedating the better) such as Temazepam, Nitrazepam, Valium, etc to help you sleep and keep you sane during the worst of it? Trust me this helps alot.

As for anything else i would say go pick up lot's of Gatorade and maybe some drinks like Ensure as well to make sure you stay hydrated as well as get electrolytes. You loose alot of fluids during Opiate withdrawal due to vomiting, diarrhea and sweating so make sure to stock up on lot's of Gatorade and i also find that Pedialyte a rehydration drink given to kids but also adults to work really good as well. Food may not look to appetizing but try and atleast get some soup down in you atleast once a day as not eating will make you feel even worse. That's about all i can think of that can be gotten without prescription to help Opiate withdrawals and that is more or less the basics. You can get prescription meds to make withdrawals easier as well but having the nausea, Diarrhea and insomnia managed should make it bearable

Edit: Sorry didn't read your last reply until now so disregard the first 2 paragraphs. All i can say is i don't envy your situation. I hate people who steal off their own much less steal meds off their own. I have sadly had a few similar situations happen (though noone was ever selfish enough to go off with my entire script!) and it really is fucked. What is more fucked is that the people who nicked some pills off me most likely knew that i would have given them a pill or 2 had they asked but instead chose to be twats about it. Does your daughter have a history of addiction? If you have any proof i would confront her about it for sure. Also what strength Dilaudid tablets went missing and how much? I would be worried about someone who didn't know any better taking a wack of Dilaudid and overdosing so if you have any reason to believe it's your daughter i would confront her ASAP. Dilaudid is a very potent Opiate and not for those with no tolerance really. It's not like popping back a few Codeine pills or Percs to relax or anything.

I don't know. Checked the calander, actually 9 days. I'll survive of course but will be useless to my 9yr old little man. And this weekends trip south won't happen. The pain makes me useless. Fml, this is stupid.
Ha, I swear to God my car actually legit caught fire. Fire dept says from phone charger left plugged in with nothing attached, had tons of pics and reports, very true. And did get new meds because of it.
I used to hide them everywhere, but all kids moved out execpt little man and when 21 mobbed back it didn't occur to me to go back on lockdown. I have klonopin. Prescribed. Plenty left. I'll make the report, you just brought things to light I didn't even think of..

Confront her first before making a report. Maybe she fucked up and didn't even take any or barely any yet. If you have no proof she took them the cops can't do anything anyway except possibly make your life more miserable. Also the Klonopin will help the WD symptoms. You may want to put them in a good hiding place to.

As for your car i have to Lol big time at that =D

I know, I'm a green so I can't attach apic from the way I read the rules but my honda 100% burst into flames. We saw the fire from the living room window, threw all the kids over the back neighbors fence in case it blew up,fd arrived very quickly but nothing but a burnt metal frame left, lock box was because my job dealt with cash, legit delivery driver, and scripts were a visable melted mess of plastic.
I did confront her, said please just be honest before I tear the house apart looking, she swears she didn't..I really want to believe her because when they would steal before just some here and there they saw what it did to me. So to take two weeks worth hurts to think she would. This is real talk. It may all sound like bs but it is so true it's even sounding ridiculous to me.
*Just to ad, she wouldn't take them to eat them, she would however take them to sell them. I never knew what promethazine was, we all got bronchitis..had bottles of it sitting in the bathroom, a bottle for each family member. My son asked if he could have them cause each bottle was worth so much. I'm like, we're DYING jackass! Learned then I had to hide all of those.
I'm not a thief, I'm not a lier,I'm not accustomed to having to deal with this kind of crap, until I had a bunch of babies that grew into teens. I've learned more than I need to know thanks to them.

So she's nicked pill's off you before? Is she a addict herself because you would have to be one uncaring person to take a persons entire Opiate script especially if they needed them. Like you the pain makes me fucking useless and combine that with the withdrawals and i am fucked until i get my next script or the withdrawals go away. There are few things i hate worse then being able to do fuck all but lie around in bed in agony hating myself.

Have you ever misplaced your pills before or anything like that? Granted your Dilaudid going missing when your daughter shows up is one fuck of a coincidence if you ask me. Is there any signs shes using or hooked on opiates at all like pinned pupils, scratching at her face, anything that looks like track marks, nodding, symptoms that could be withdrawals, etc?

I just edited my previous response that answers some of that. She is going through allot of personal stuff right now that leaves me to not fully trust her. She's fucked up before and all I had to do was ask and she would tell me. With her severe emotional issues she's trying to cope with I don't know where her head is at. Regretfully I have to say in my heart I do not believe her.

And anytime I'm sicker than usual she always checks on me, helps with the housework, even when she was out on her own. I've been in bed for three days, unable to perform everyday life duties and she hadn't said a word to me. Nothing.

Have you checked with the doctor who prescribed the Dilaudid or just been to the ER?

I gotta say that does not sound good. The fact that she would steal all someones meds just to make a profit (much less her fucking dad's meds!) means that she is most likely not the most trustworthy of people. If she is selling them she is not only putting herself at great risk for a trafficking charge but if someone OD's on the stuff the police finding out that she stole your script could maybe be enough to get your script yanked from you. I would most certainly bring this up with her again and tell her you won't be pissed if she did take them and gives them back to you. I know that's gotta be a lie but hey what you need right now is your meds back so put pride aside if you have to atleast for now. Other then that i really don't know what to say. The fact that she would take them on you not because she is a addict but rather to make money seems even more completely fucked and totally selfish to me.

If you have any questions regarding withdrawal at all or how to deal with it don't hesitate to ask. Greenlighters can PM mods so if you need to or just need someone to rant at PM me. I am not usually on as much as i am today but i usually check this atleast once a day anyway.

But have you reported it to the police yet as suggested by me and paranoid android? As paranoid android wrote, if you don't and the police then find them in someone else's possession you might end up without pain meds as you could be accused of selling them, and even worse if some one ends up ODing one them.

Agreed. I've been skimming your replies/posts on here and they're all over the place. Pretty hard to follow - and if I'm being honest, sounds like a really outrageous story - but I don't know you so I'm not going to say you're making anything. But a police report would be the best thing to do. As others have already said. If you haven't filed a report, or won't file a report, then I have to be honest and say I can't really feel that bad for you. If I were in your situation and I was truly in that much pain I'd be doing literally everything I could possibly do to get things straightened out and get a new script.

About 6 months ago my fiance and I went on a cruise and one of my bags was lost when we left. Well, I say it was lost, but in all actuality I grabbed what I thought was my bag as we were in a hurry and it looked identical. By the time we got home and I opened it up I realized it wasn't mine - and my real bag, which I had left, had all of my medications I took on the cruise. Including my Vicoprofen and Dilaudid scripts. After calling the cruise line and filing a lost luggage claim (that they emailed to me) I was able to take a copy of that claim to my doctor and show him it was legit and he wrote me a brand new script. Took less than 18 hours to go from "shit this isn't my bag! oh crap, my meds!" to "thanks for the new scripts doc, sorry about this goofed up situation" and I was headed to the pharmacy.

I've spoken with her, let her know I was going to have to make a report. She just shrugged. I'm doing my best at Makin myself look presentable to head to the police station. I have to take care of me so I can take care of my little man. Whether the doc rewrites or not is up to him, I've been with him a very long time, do my drug tests, follow all the rules. He's a good specialist and knows me well so may or may not fill but going to go cover myself. Thank you every one. I'll let you know..

I'm guessing that was against me. Actual script is 4mg 6× daily=180 a month. Estimate 75 to 85 gone.

I hope your doctor writes you a new script. I really think most doctors would when you say you have involved the police and everything.

Ok. I apologize if this is coming across as what is being called trolling and random. I am all over the place. I have not been in this position before, that's why I came here, for advise. I went to the police station as advised, I did not to begin with because as I said I had no proof, what was I supposed to say? Hey, pills are gone, because it's not like they don't hear that all the time. The only other time it happened I had tons of proof and it was very simple. Police took my statement and that was the end there . I called American pain and spine center and explained the situation and she said they do not replace lost or stolen pills. She looked up my file and said she was going to speak with the doctor and see if he can do anything but as a rule they don't do that. She said I will be getting a call by the end of the day after she speaks with the doctor. I'm not a freak, I am brand new here and maybe coming across the wrong way but every statement I made is the absolute truth. Was weary of the police report because I did not want to say the only person with access is my daughter. What if it was her? I'm not turning her in. I just know to go back to the old way of lockdown and counting.
Thank you for the withdraw advise. I do have most of the meds to help. I've done two and three days but never 13!! So it is what it is. 9 days until refill unless the phone call goes well. I'm sorry for the random babbling. I am in crisis situation and just seeking advise.

If you've been with the same doctor for a long time - without any real issues - and you're urine samples are always clean, I'd be pretty surprised if he didn't believe you. I mean it's one thing to get a script filled and then go back a couple days later and say "oh man! my entire month's script is gone! I need another!"... but with only a week left, I don't think it sounds suspicious at all. Especially if it's only happened twice in 10 years as you've said. I know my primary doctor would believe me - and I've only been with him for ~4 years (but I also have never had any issues with my script - excluding that cruise incident I explained in my last reply to this topic - and I've never had any urine test issues either... so he trusts me 110%).

Good luck! Police report or no police report, I'd definitely call and/or schedule a visit ASAP and explain everything to him. If you do, make sure you remind him of how this isn't a common thing and that he's never had any trouble out of you. Of course, you don't want to overdue it or he might get suspicious... I don't know him so I can't say that would happen; it can differ from doctor to doctor.

I'm sorry that you're suffering because your daughter stole your script. I'm glad that you made a report and I have faith that your doctor will refill your script. I lost my script once right when I got it. I told my doctor immediately and he was annoyed but actually refilled it. Lol.

Yes fingers crossed. I made the report, admittedly it was pretty vague, refuse to implicate my daughter in any way. Report states I was in the hospital for two days with my husband by my side and our baby with my two other daughters house and came home and bottles were missing. I mean that is the truth but that's all it says. My doc and I have a good professional relationship, hubby always goes with me every two months, I get six scripts,3 a month, cuts down on copay so I don't have to go monthly. Don't get tested often any more cause ALWAYS test perfect. It will be awesome if I get them but if I don't I have to say I was actually seeking other options. Just being able to be here and express what's happening is clearing my head and letting me know stay clean, 4 days in, 9 days left, I can do that with the help of withdraw meds. This forum saved me from doing something really fucking stupid. So thanks, seriously. I'm a tad spaced out and confused I guess is a good word but my brain is no longer med seeking. It's just like, ok, we've got this. I hope I don't sound like a total lunatic but you all really did set my brain straight. I can't tell you how much simple blunt logical comments can bring a person back to reality. I appreciate every comment. Thank you!!!
