What I don't understand is why the cut the level at 4:05. 16 bit 44.1khz. Of course you don't wan't digital distortion, but they had way more headroom.
The best bit about this track is how they gate the kick drum. This was before software plug-in's and such; back in the day when you had to side-chain a compressor much like when a DJ talks into the mic and the level of the music lowers in volume, but used in a creative way. Taken to it's extreme it's called noise gating. It sounds like shards or fragments of sound in a pulse rhythm, very much a trait in psychedelic music. Noise gating was originally used for mic's and high impedance guitar's and such to 'cut out the buzz noise' on quieter sections.

YES BRO. I have been listening to Transwave while cycling lately, fuels me so hard for a 30-40 mile ride. I just rode at blitz pace around an island the other day listening to their album Phototropic. So invigorating.

Masters of psy for sure.
