I am in the 12th year of my career. I enjoy it.
My first 2 years of my science degree were ugly. There was no way I was getting into med school which wasn't the plan anyway.
I got lucky with this career.
graduate assistant where i go to school, and a teacher/tutor for Kaplan Test Prep. i enjoy teaching, and do a lot of it right now, but it's not what I want to do when I get out of school
I'm a forester/landscaper/horticulturist/gardener.
I love the woods, plants, nature, botany, herbs, horticulture, hard work and proper hands-on graft. It's my passion, I don't feel like i've earned my money if im just sitting in a chair all day (which I have also done and was horrible).
Unfortunately there is no work in that field here right now, or any more at all really.
Perpetual Indulgence and Cyc, physician assistant is a pretty kickass career. I know you won't believe me when I say this, but I envy you guys sometimes.
I have a quite versatile job profile but I mainly focus on technical support and service administration of our company. It's a desk job, thank god I have a nice office now. At my previous work we were some 200-300 persons working in the same room with just thin "walls" separating us. It was like being in a chicken farm.
I occupy various chairs and seats all day, usually in front of a computer or television. I'm a volunteer so I don't get paid, but I don't mind. In January I'll be occupying a classroom for the first time in 5-6 years. Hopefully during this time I'll be doing something a little more fruitful
I did that! Transition year between undergrad and graduate program.
My dude has muscular dystrophy. He had use of his thumbs to work the wheelchair.
I was his day aide for school and for evening socials. He drank thru a straw and got wasted easily and I had to help him piss (aka pull down his sweatpants and anchor his dick in a plastic handheld urinal...whatever it was called) so it was a laugh.
I recall getting paid $14/hr in 1996 and it felt rich.
