Women in porn... What do you think?

Why are we creating a divide between men AND woman in porn? Why do we only focus on woman as if they are less equipped to be involved in something that involves all genders and sexual identities?

are you a guy? (pictured you as a guy from your posts in the sexual fetish thread lol) if so, are the people who goes into your 'room' mostly women or gay guys? if your a guy, what do you do?
Yea, im a guy. I'd say both, even though, virtually, its impossible to know the gender of an individual viewer. Some of my viewers private messaged pictures of women claiming to be them. But hey, its the internet. I cant see whos watching me + theres no verbal communication. Essentially, im just dancing and posing in front of my laptop as if it is a mirror. I smoke some weed, get nude, level the camera so the view is just dangerously above my groin area, and dance and pose to trance/arabic chillwave etc. For the price of "extra gold", then I show my dilly, swing it around, and jerk it. Cum for more gold. (I have multiple porn tabs on stand-by paused). Its somewhat of a challenge, once you consecutively receive private sessions (more so for males). I have costumes corresponding with my two Caribbean and Arabic personas (sometimes I wear a mask). Im masculine + I have my orientation set as straight, so viewers dont expect me to perform homosexual acts. So, pretty much I smoke weed, listen to music, dance and whack off... normal stuff.. just in front of webcam.

There is a divide because the thread says Women in porn, thats my take.

First of all jeng1128, your contribution to this thread is rare and valuable. I'm sure this thread has alren read by, and will continue to be read by, young naive people who are considering a job in the industry. With that in mind I'd rather see 10 pages of posts from people like you who know what they're talking about, than 1 more page of baseless speculation and pissing contests by folks who've never been backstage.

Secondly, what exactly is it about your past work that your boyfriend can't come to terms with?
Is it the social shame?
Personal beliefs about "purity" and "cleanliness"?
Fear that your past will come back to haunt you (and him, by association)?
Insecurities that his sexual prowess doesn't compare to the professionals you've worked with?
Fear that you're more likely to cheat on him?
Fear that you're just faking it every time you're with him?
Fear that you're permanently burned out on sex, and on the verge of going frigid?
Fear that you've done a lot more eyebrow-raising things in your past besides this that you haven't told him?

Not that you should lay this on him, but your BF's a complete hypocrite if he's ever supported the adult industry as a consumer, even if he's only ever given them website hits, not dollars.

If you and he are serious in any way, you guys need to have this talk. Everyone deserves better than someone who holds their past against them, without any concrete plan of what needs to be done for him to come to terms with it. We all made shit choices when we were young. What matters is where we are now as a result.
It's EXTREALLY hard to write about that (ie my relationship) on here. he knows my screen name & reads some of my posts, so I told him that was wrong to read this bc it's like reading my diary & I would never & never have done that to him. so if you're reading this hi(i won't even write him name) so hi steve if youre reading this.
not every person on this site is trying to hit on me, some people actually use it for real problems in their life & God knows I've got a ton. And sometimes you just need someone to talk to.

Yah, totally different from my experiance. I never went into it thinking "I'm going to become famous." Never crossed my mind. It was because of drugs, so it was a rather easy way to make a ton of cash at the time, without doing anything illegal. The actual story is so long & crazy. I would NEVER shout out my p name. I don't even like to say or hear it.

My friend saw the woman we knew who did porn at the college they went to. He shouted out her p-name or the site she was on very loudly in public. I was not there when this happened but I felt bad for her. Or maybe she did not care?

I found these videos which have to do with the topic.

The first one is of a woman who once did porn but quit.

This is a documentary about some porn people who were mainly popular in the 90s or even very early 00s but quit.

I think some porn is beautiful and some is disgusting! I truly don't think about how or why the women in them end up there! Its sad that many women a abused in many ways mentally and physically! People are really fucked up.

This is a documentary I found but have not watched all of yet.

These videos are about porn, so uh yeah they're NSFW but if you're reading this you already knew that since you're in this thread.

I've watched porn for years (I am a 20 year old woman, started watching probably around my early teens, like 13 or 14 maybe--first exposure was around age 11 but I didn't become REALLY interested until I had my own computer of course). I never saw anything fundamentally wrong with it, and sometimes I even fantasized about being a porn star, I watched the AVN awards with my parents and I always thought it looked so fun.

But then I took this class this past spring in the philosophy of sexuality and we did a whole unit on sex work (which included prostitution and pornography), reading several different philosophers' opinions on pornography and watching some documentaries about it. Completely fucked with my perception of the porn industry and the way women are treated within it. Read a paper that reported that in an empirical study of heterosexual pornography, about 89% of films were found to have some sort of violence toward the women in the films (name-calling, slapping, etc). Obviously it's not all like that, recently there's been an emergence of "female-friendly" porn or "feminist" porn, but it's hard to find and not the majority at all. Almost all my heterosexual male friends learned about sex from porn in some way, and if the majority of porn involves violence toward women, it's easy to see why men who watch a lot of porn might come to think that forcibly shoving their dick down a woman's throat until she gags and calling her a bitch is erotic.

In school I'm currently getting my minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies, and I've always been a strong proponent for women (& men) to do whatever the fuck they want, and I always considered porn as something that could be potentially pretty empowering for a woman. And I think it still could be but not with the way the system is currently. Until the disturbing amount of violence toward women is removed from anything other than BDSM-based porn, I don't know if I can morally stand in favor of the porn industry.

Obviously I'm still watching it though so…I'm a morally conflicted human

That Debbie Does Dallas documentary was pretty interesting. I knew porno theatres existed but I hadn't made the connection between no VHS at the time, so people had to go to those places to see that kind of stuff. The mafia connection was interesting but not surprising haha.

Just watched this one, same series as that one I think, about amateur porn. So much cringe.. the skinny black guy who does the worst press ups ive ever seen.. the guy who shoots films and its his son who films it. The hell! Haha.

A shaved/trimmed penis

For some reason, the general consensus these days is that a girl be clean shaven.
Why? Some people prefer it the other way, it’s gone to the stage where you could
be lynched for suggesting otherwise. Yet, when it’s put to some guys about shaving
their nether region, and they think someone is going to call them a sissy should they
have tried it….double standards, lads. :!

Yeah la famiglia operated or probably still does operate/finance porn, both in North America, and in European countries.

Some people prefer different things.
I prefer both myself and my boyfriend to be shaved. He prefers the same.

Thing is, sometimes a young girl who is fairly in-experienced doesn't want to be all dirty and do some of the stuff that a guy may kinda expect. I enjoy sex but I don't want to be regarded as shit in bed just because the guy i'm having sex with has weird expectations of acts i'll be 'performing' because he's viewed them from porn - I think porn has the potential to ruin good loving relationships

I try....believe me. It's alot easier to say than do. It really fucks w ur self esteem, thats why I really despise a ton of people in the industry....

You shouldn't get too hung up on what you did.. Fair enough you regret it you can't help that but you didn't do anything wrong.

If anyone has a problem with what you did then that is their problem and their problem alone.

IMO someone having an issue with you doing porn is like someone having a problem with you being a waitress.. A jobs a job ;)

If a relationship is ruined on the grounds the guy's expectations weren't met because of porn was there really a chance for a good loving relationship?

Would you want it?

I hate the fakeness in most porn.

I enjoy amateur stuuf, where it's just some random couple taping themselves and putting it on the Internet.
You can tell it's just so much more genuine-- real people doing what they would be doing if a camera weren't there.

I can't stand produced porn with the terrible acting, fake moans, and unnecessary story line (if you can call it that.) It's just so disingenuous, and I can't help but think the actors are not enjoying it much at all (I'm sure some do, but I think that's the minority) and are just doing it for the money.
