Yeh the comment from that Maria Ficarra fucktard "Are you crazy or what?" pretty much sums it up.

Amanda Fazio also crossed the floor against some porn crackdown as well. The voice of reason perhaps. Apparently she was suspended for that which seems ridiculous to me.
 
If this shit ever got passed as law, there's no way they'd follow through on it strictly, how could they, i've got some sick cactus's or cacti or whatever and I'm not stopping growing them for anything, some of them only flower once a yeah and do some great flowers, one just did a huge yellow flower the other day and it lasted like a day (and then shrivelled up and died off), but it was really beautiful.
 
They couldn't enforce it, what would they do? raid everyones house and take samples from every plant in every persons yard for further testing? a cactus amnesty maybe? or "well give you $50 for every Acacia brought to the police station before october 1 2014" this is way too much for them to police.
 
They can enforce it, just because they pass it, doesn't mean they have to bust everybody, just anybody they want.

Like spacejunk pointed out nicely, if they don't like the cut of your jib, and you get them on the wrong day, they'll enforce whatever they can.

Surely if someone is operating some kind of clandestine lab to extract dmt/mescaline, current laws should be more than sufficient to lay charges? Growing plants and extracting drugs (that arguably have no logical reason being scheduled in the first place!) from them are not the same thing.

This is evidence that prohibition gives society mental problems.

Laws like this make it incredibly easy for police to meet their quotas.
 
They'd just use it to disappear certain people, simple as that.

SO, are they going to hire a troop of horticulturalists to define which species are illegal or is it just a blanket ban on Acacia? I doubt many people can tell the differences between DMT and non-DMT containing trees.
 
They will just wait until they bust someone with a commercial size bag of DMT, on a farm that is obviously set up for cultivation then add the charges on top of the drug trafficking ones. Every one else they turn a blind eye to like recording copy protected television using a DVR or parents who smack their kids.
 
And you trust the people that have the decision on this, as to wether to turn a blind eye or not?

There are people that are good at what they do as a profession, and some are just plain shit. I don't want to have a shit one decide if I'm going to prison or not.

There are plenty of laws that are stupid and unjust. They have existed for decades, ask a aboriginal bloke about unjust treatment under the law. If you make yourself a target they will find one to fit I'm afraid. Best bet to tread lightly and leave no trace.
