Two and a half years on, my top 5 is the same, except Lawrence of Arabia is now no.1 and Apocalypse Now no.2. And I think it'll stay that way. To add something more significant, i'll post my next top 5 to round off my top 10.

6. LOTR trilogy (2001-2003)
7. Godfather, The (1972)
8. Godfather, Part II, The (1974)
9. Gandhi (1982)
10. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966)

That order is definitely subject to change. I'll be re-watching my favourite movies during my holidays in August.
 
^ That's interesting that you like The Godfather more than Godfather Part II. I think a lot of people have mixed feelings about which they like better. Well, at least I do. :)
 
Split hair between them really. Part II turns it into more of an epic, which is great, but I dunno. Not enough Brando maybe? I think the first movie is a little more grounded. Both just top, top movies though.
 
I'm not the kind of person to really stick with an answer forever, but my top 5 atm would be.

3. Forest Gump (lol yeah, watched it too many times when i was a kid)
