Social The All New/Past Due ONE WORD thread vs keep it simple

Just found out a friend passed away last night.
I had such a rough night last night as well so very emotional

lots of pain here. Ouch, fuck!, Ow! That's the extent of my new vocabulary.
 
Thanks, friend. <3 I know I will and actually one of the things this made me think of is how even something like this is so much easier for me than others in situations very different to mine. When the paramedic were hauling me up the hill, all splinted up, I thought it was very painful; but imagine having multiple wounds and having to be thrown over someone's shoulder or dragged off a battlefield with broken bones. I kept thinking of people in the old days, in the wilderness, etc etc. usually I don't like pain comparisons but I have to say it helped me to think about how lucky I am that this is a temporary thing, I have access to good doctors and facilities and I will be completely put under for the surgery (unlike the whiskey and bullet to bite on=D).
