Tell us about the last film you watched, mate!

Last film at the cinema: Source Code.

Last film at home: Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Both very good.

The Human Experience.

It's on netflix.

Lepers in Africa, disabled children, hobos in NYC...all explaining their motivation to continue living and "thriving". Pretty inspirational.

Get help thick film

What a wonderfully, insightful critique. There will be a bright, future for you someday by the looks of things; the B.F.C.A. dont know what the're missing!

The Devil's Backbone (2001) El espinazo del diablo (original title)
Directed and co-written by Guillermo del Toro

. All in all, a very solid 'ghost story', one I would indeed recommend.

Totally agree... am a huge fan of Guillermo del Toro though, so am a tad biased. ;)

I'd recommend 'The Orphanage' also.

The Darjeeling Limited. I bought it, albeit years ago, so I figured I may as well watch it. It's official: I do not like Wes Anderson's directing/writing. 8)

dinner for schmucks.

the story and how it made you feel was awkward.

my hubby and i thought we were in for a great comedy; and had to force ourselves to watch until the ending (which we were also disappointed with).

Buffalo '66

did not like. i liked christina ricci though. the way the picture looked--like old home-movie film--was appealing. but overall i was bored and even annoyed at times.

I can see how you'd get bored, but really, I think it's one of those that gets better the more you watch it. I think it's a really beautiful film in so many ways.

Christina Rcci looked absolutely stunning in it too. In fact, I personally don't think see ever looked as good before or after this.

Last film I watched?. I watched The Runaways with commentary with Joan Jett, Kristen Stewart, and Dakota Fanning. T'was quite interesting. :)

Casino which i rate 10/10

Most people will know what its about and will have seen it but for those who have not its a movie based on true events about the mafia when they controlled casinos in las vegas

Robert Deniro stars along side a great cast including Joe Pesci and Sharon Stone

If you are a lover of Mafia/Gangster movies this film is for you

People on Sunday
best movie i have seen in a while. best silent movie i have ever seen--though that is not a long list. i highly recommend.

Match Point
lame. and i am a big scarlett fan. blows my mind how hit or miss woody allen is. and it is not even from one time in his life to the next, but from one film to the next.

at the ongoing local film fest:
The Catechism Cataclysm
had worthwhile scenes. starred the dorky side-kick from Eastbound & Down. was perfect for when the showed it, late on friday night. director did a q&a after.

Der Sandman
very arthouse. was entertaining. nothing spectacular.

The Off Hours
my favorite feature length so far. though, as you can see that is only best out of three--just started. was sad movie with a quiet plot. director was there and did a q&a after.

i had a very movie-oriented weekend.

Christina Rcci looked absolutely stunning in it
^i did notice that.

^Did you also notice how her boobies jiggled up and down during that tap number?. ;)

OMG. Someone looped the booby bounce clip three times on youtube. :D

Bounce bounce bounce

Last night I watched Female Trouble

LMAO =D Why did you have to post that...it looks so bad now I'm going to have to watch it! :p

This was on TV last night again.

Kaboom

was perfect for a college town audience. i went into it with low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. not so different from The Doom Generation, but better. i thought. crisper. Kaboom is fun. it looks cool. i liked it.

meh, why I bother with 3D I don't know.

I certainly won't be again. Plastic glasses couldn't be more uncomfortable. Action seems become blurry and it's just terrible.

I won't be seeing anything else in 3D again.

Movie itself was entertaining enough though I suppose.

Old time classic, Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead. I just love Christina Applegate. <3

And the idea that you can do anything if you throw a lil' bullshit into the mix is a pretty accurate portrayal of 'the world of work' ime.

kate-beckinsale-whiteout-poster1.jpg

I was pretty "whited out" myself while watching, so I have no clue as to what happened. I don remember Kate taking off most of her close. All I know is that Kate Beckinsale's booty makes me want to bite it like a puppy with a chew toy.

goina look at this and get back to ye

Less Than Zero
less-than-zero-cover.jpg

T'was my first time seeing this last night, and imo it's always risky digging out 80s movies you never grew up with. But I kinda enjoyed it. It was unusually dark for it's time, especially given it's 'brat pack' cast.

Another I've never seen before, but probably should have I'm watching right now. Foxes

It occurred to me that there's usually a film which inspired many musicians to start a band. Courtney Love has sited this as her inspiration, Kathleen Hanna has mentioned Ladies And Gentlemen The Fabulous Stains, and Kurt Cobain Over The Edge. If any movie encouraged me to start a band and get into different kinds of music it wold be All Over Me. :)

Black Swan

i cannot describe how much tension i went into this movie with. so i won't try.

reminded me of Roman Polanski.

i liked it, overall. but it was not a 5 star movie. the story is not fully explored. i'm a huge fan of shorter movies, but this movie deserved and called for a lot more time. it had my attention too; i would have given it that time.

i can't believe aronofsky's use of CGI. it looked so tacky. i think he blew something in his brain after Pi and Requiem for a Dream. i hope he is just in slump. i do not think those two movies could have been luck.

i hope he gets out of this slump and remakes this movie in a decade or two, on film, no bullshit effects, and 2 1/2 hours long. it's just too bad he blew his opportunity with mila and natalie.

still, i liked his approach to horror. it was pretty entertaining. just not the classic i wanted it to be.
