Hunger is my all time favorite psych band and Strictly from Hunger (1969) my all time favorite psych album. I have this on vinyl and have listened to it COUNTLESS times, usually while smoking weed lol.

Honestly, I tried very hard for a while to find other psych bands from the 60s and 70s that were THIS tripped out, and I could never find anything comparable. Just about the only thing I did find that I felt was equally tripped out in this DARK way from that era was The Calico Wall's single "I'm a Living Sickness" which is a classic. If anyone else knows anything tripped out and DARK like this from that period please let me know:

Seriously, this isn't just one of the best psych songs, it's IMO literally one of the single greatest songs ever written, and it's such a mysterious song and band too. It was originally written in 1967 I believe, and I mean, they only ever released one other song and it wasn't close to this good. They seem to be forever shrouded in mystery:
