Nearly 17 too young lsd?

Well after tons of research I've decided I'm going to try it tomorrow. I'd like to think I'm rather developed mentally & have a wide understanding of things, but then again that could just show my immaturity, just curious of people's opinions? I've read how much of a mindfuck this stuff is, & yeah I know the risks, getting valium on hand for a bad trip. I'm 16, but 17 next month, what are you thoughts?

My opinion is that any age where your brain is still developing (less than around 23) is too young for any drugs, be it weed, lsd or cocaine. Drugs like LSD can unlock latent psychological disorders that you may be predisposed to, such as schizophrenia. I didn't start using anything until I was 20 and that was drinking, I didn't use drugs until I was 21. Personally I'm glad I waited I was more mature and was able to respect the drug more. Also I have schitzoaffective disorder and I'm glad I didn't bring it out early by using psychoactives.

That´s what I normally suggest, but lots of people are against that idea..

You know, I have a feeling that no matter what we say, you're still going to do it. But you should at least read this thread:

Bad-Trip-on-LSD-4-months-later-Acid-Trip-into-HELL-Endless-Thought-Loop

Not neccesarily the first post (the wall of text), but rather the answers, especially the post by transition synth, because he speaks the truth. You might be alright and have a great trip, but the younger you are, the bigger the risk of "complications". LSD is not like alcohol or weed, but I think you know that.

And you should also ask yourself, why you are in such a hurry to try it?

Last but not least, remember: if it's bitter, it's a spitter.

All clever young kids think that they are ahead of their age. While that might be true in comparison to others, you still have more maturing to do yourself. The brain doesn't fully finish maturing and developing until mid twenties for anyone. Which strictly means you shouldn't be pumping substances in there until then. That said, out of all drugs you shouldn't do when you're that young, psychedelics to me seem the least worrisome. Things like alcohol, MDMA, cannabis, stims, etc are much more abusable. Something like shrooms or LSD you won't be doing more than a few times a year.

If what you've got is good stuff you'll probably not be wanting to repeat that experience any time soon :p. I had my first trip when I was 17 on LSA (morning glory seeds) whilst barely having any experience with drinking or weed. It went fine though, me and my friend were in nausea hell for the first few hours but were giggling and talking all sorts of shit for the rest of the experience.

You'll know if you're ready to do psychedelics...

yeah I also think that this is nothing we can really give you an answer to... you're the only one on here who knows you well enough.

I was 16 when I first took mushrooms, but to be honest, before that I had many experiences with cannabis which were much stronger than that first trip. the next psychedelic I took was LSD at 18.

I am not saying that I wished I had started later. only at age 20 I had a really intense and difficult experience, which I am still struggling with 3 years later... but that's all part of the process to realize who I am and I don't think I would take that back (but in times of emotional crisis I often wished I didn't eat those mushrooms).

if you're not sure, I'd say wait a little while longer, a year or two isn't that long, believe me. but if you'll do it, start low (eg half a dose/blotter) and test your LSD (-> Ehrlich's reagent), because mislabelled blotters (sold as LSD but not containing LSD) are definately something to look out for.

greets :)

I did LSD even younger, and I still think that LSD has had nothing but positive experience in my life.

HOWEVER, LSD is going to probably be like a complete mindfuck. Like you will have an amazing experience. PLEASE keep in mind, NOT ALL DRUGS ARE THIS GOOD.

I made the mistake of thinking when I was younger, if they lied to me about weed and LSD then they lied to me about cocaine and heroin, like i could handle it piece of cake. WRONG

Be aware LSD is very atypical as far as neurological action. It is much more active in the areas of dopamine, which is the same area that anti psychotic medications tend to aim to block.

Mushrooms are a better choice imo, but I would agree not to recommend it to anyone developing and young that is not fully aware of their possible susceptibility to mental health issues that could get set off. I just would not recommend it to anyone, but just say it can be a worthwhile or extremely dangerous risky decision that while worth thinking about definitely takes a lot of thought so when the time to trip one can clear their mind and thoughts of those concerns that lead to stress, anxiety, and fear.

A question you may want to ask yourself first.
Are you prepared to see all aspects of your being in a very bright light?
With acid there is no hiding parts of yourself or bullshitting yourself about them.
It is a life changing experience, which is good, but it has no tolerance for self deception.
In my experience of course, your mileage may vary, etc.
;)

Bro I believe that you are not too young to do ANYTHING in life. If A person wants to do something they will do it anyway. SHOULD they do it? Well should is a very subjective term. Should I do untested LSD with DXM? Perhaps not. Most people would say that you SHOULDN'T. But I'm here to say this:-

If you wish to do something that you FULLY understand and respect then go ahead. Once you have the level of maturity to treat these drugs the way they SHOULD be treated. Lol it popped up again.

Anyway, LSD is IMO a trip to the brink or if you will, psychosis. I honestly haVE BEEN PRETTY SCHITZ on this drug. Talkin to myself and shit. But I had the respect for the. I knew it wasn't ALL FUN N GAMES. oNCE YOU KNOW THIS THEN ITS GOOD. I was 17 when i first took LSD. It has been a great help in my life.

Just the faCT THAT you're on this forum asking then it shows me that you have a respect for drugs in the first place. Most people don't

You'd have a blast

^You sound like a webcammer/pornstar. This isn't the place for that. -_-

Indeed. Having fun with psychs is very possible, but ya still have to respect the substance and what it can do to you.

I see why people favor lsd so much. First off, it is very strong. Second, like someone posted above already, you can't hide from yourself. That can leave one feeling "pure" after the trip if you have the mindset to confront it, and then take the next step. And third, it can be very euphoric. Personally, I never got much of that but it is very common for others around me, and on here. But I have gotten really crazy, nice (except bad trips, obv) visuals every time I've done it, which comes with decent euphoria in a way, and I've enjoyed most trips a lot.

I first took LSD when I was 15 and I actually did better in school for a while after. Don't listen to any nonsense anyone tells you about LSD impairing your brain development. My experiences with LSD have developed me as a person and given me more empathy and a better perspective on everything in general. That being said, it's not for everyone, and can be a stressful experience, speeding development of some varieties of schizophrenia. Just dose low your first time to make sure you know what you're getting into, and also look into family medical history. only take 100ug/one hit your first time, I'd say. That way it's not super overwhelming. Also try to have a trip sitter. The last thing you want is to be bored as hell on acid.

I was 17 when I first started using LSD and shrooms. When I was 16 I suddenly developed a fascination with drugs, even though I hadn't used any yet. I happened to find a book called Drugs From A to Z which was like a drug encyclopedia. I would read it over and over, imagining how the various substances described would feel. It wasn't until a little later that I was actually able to get anything though.

To me psychedelics seem to be a thing which one starts to crave as a teenager. Could have just been me but I think puberty may make males crave drugs, for some reason. Maybe it's just wanting to explore new horizons, I don't know. Nobody could have told me not to take acid and shrooms though. It was a hunger to experience the things I had read in the drug encyclopedia, they seemed so much more interesting than normal drab life. I also notice that I can't get the same type of effects from psychs now as I did as a teen and young man. In those days I would get really nice visuals but now I get very little. I think the brain may be best suited for psychedelic effects in youth and then later there may be less serotonin or the receptors change somehow. All I know is that I haven't had the high quality visuals lately that I had in my young days.

If the OP feels a craving for psychedelics then it may be the right time for him. If he's just doing it casually then it might be best to wait a few more years. Everyone has to decide what feels right for them. I wouldn't want to be high on acid or shrooms if I was living with my parents and they weren't cool with drug use though, because it would be hard to conceal the dilated pupils and ususual behavior and I might have a baddie.

16 is how old u should be to do acid,
nothing really wrong with doing it younger than that tbh but u should save it till ur 16 so u can enjoy life having never tried any drugs until then, plus even tho drugs change stuff for the better sometimes, starting to try new drugs does kinda change things, at least it did for me
not all bad, but different for sure

Horrid advice..... There's no set age on when someone is ready. We are all different and mature differently. Some may be ready by four/five some may never be ready in one hundred years of life. We are all different and need to make the right choices for ourselves based on our personal chemistry and life. Although it is not bad advice to say someone can choose for themselves if it's right, but not that at a certain age it's right.... Some of people's most life changing healing experiences happens in situation where it is used in ways conventionally thought as dangerous or unhealthy.

Be careful I pans make sure you trust who you are with. You don't want to make a stupid decision you'll forever regret and I'm not just talking about after affects of drugs just personal choices.
