Naltrexone & first time Opiate/Suboxone use?

Question - say someone who has never, ever, taken opiates tried 0.5 to 0.75 mg of Suboxone. This person, having zero opiate tolerance, felt very euphoric for about 12+ hours. Let's say this happened on a Monday, and immediately this person decided never to do something so stupid ever ever again, and in the processes also decided to quit drinking again (this person is an alcoholic and had just relapsed 'lightly' for a few weeks after 9 months of sobriety)

Anyway, the very next day - Tuesday -this person begs their Dr for help to quit drinking and finally agrees to begin taking a Naltrexone prescription.

Well upon further research, this person discovers the problem of Naltrexone causing major withdrawals when taken too soon after an opiate and becomes very scared to take the new Naltrexone prescription, having made the stupid mistake of trying a small amount Suboxone the day before.

It is now Friday, 5 days later, seeing as how this person had no opiate dependance prior to taking the Suboxone - will Naltrexone still cause major withdraws so many days later? This person really wants to quit drinking again before things get out of control.

I can't find any info online about what would happen from one small ~0.5mg dose of Suboxone, one time only with no tolerance, interacting with Naltrexone. Most articles state to wait 7-14 days after stopping Suboxone to begin Naltrexone, but nearly all Suboxone users have major opiate dependence/tolerance & have been on it for a long time.

Just curious because this person really really wants to start the Naltrexone but is afraid of being severely ill.

One dose and they are worried about withdrawal? Think about it. They took the suboxone then immediately stopped. In a couple of days enough would have been eliminated that withdrawal would have started if that was even feasible. If nothing occurred then, naltrexone possibly knocking any buprenophine of the site of action isnt not going to cause precipitated withdrawal.

Its been 5 days. Even though bupe is intrinsically long acting, most is gone. Take the naltrexone if you need it.

You're not addicted, you're not going to go through opioid w/d.

This ^^

The reason you hear all this fuzz on not taking Naltrexone afer having taking an opiates is because it does indeed clear the receptors and replace the full agonist molecule bound to them. This wouldn't have much effect on someone who is not addicted except if taking while this person still experience an effect from the drug it will put an end to this experience.

However for an addict it has dire consequences since they will be furiously send in full blown withdrawal state (which is quite unpleasant). In your case you have nothing to worry about. The absence of a full opiate agonist on your receptora won't have any consequence for you as this is your normal state.
