the song "my cherie amour" by stevie wonder just played on the radio and i said to my partner "what movie was this from?"; after stewing over it we realized the film associated was "silver linings playbook". what songs trigger a memorable cinematic experience or moment in you?

This song, of course:

The Perfect Day scene from Trainspotting also brings me right back whenever I hear it

In the Tarantino vein....

I know this isn't really what you're looking for, but this piece of music originally associated with Requiem for a Dream was recycled and used by the LOTR's films and it re-traumatized me each and every time I heard it.

Anything from Simon & Garfunkel inevitably reminds me of The Graduate.

^never seen the movie, but that's the best Beatles cover I've heard

Ever since I found out how this piece was used and abused for Inception it's been forever associated with it.

Judging by youtube comments there's no one left alive who doesn't think Donnie Darko when they hear Echo and the Bunnymen perform Killing Moon:

This takes me back every time:

Funnily enough, not to Top Gun. It always reminds me of Its always Sunny...

I can't hear this song without thinking of Patrick Bateman's apt description and slight overreaction immediately afterwards.

Or this one, without thinking of Marty, Doc Brown, Einstein and the DeLorean.

i love life aquatic

one of murrays best roles aside from what about bob? imo.

then again i adore most productions by wes anderson.

good call <3

Very good call. That was amazing in the cinema when I saw the redux release.

The Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon (this is a really strong connection for me)
