Very very true. It’s amazing how comfortable I feel in that setting, I become a lot more extroverted and had some conversations (sober and not) that have stayed with me.
Actually right before the pandemic I was at a show and walked past this guy that I instantly recognized and he did me, we had to sit a second to think but then I remember I had met him 8yrs ago at a festival, we got held up for an hour from the rain and got into the deepest convo I’ve ever had with a stranger. It was so good seeing him again, we partied up together the rest of the night and maybe I’ll never see him again but it’s moments like that which you don’t get often in normal life.
My best friends are all met through the festival scene.
I’m also all about the mini fest scene anyways, I guess because the reasons you stated. A sense of community that really gets lost as a festival gets bigger. Small festivals can much better weed out bad drugs, bad oeople, etc..
