I hear in an effort to further attempt to promote the difference they are making, the have decided to weigh the cop holding it along with the packaging. They said the inflated monetary values they give have gotten to high for them to even keep a straight face and cant be raised anymore... more funding please.

DeKalb County police seize more than $128M of illegal drugs

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. -
DeKalb County police say they've seized more than $128 million worth of illegal drugs in the past year.

Police Chief Cedric Alexander made the announcement during a news conference on Friday afternoon.

"We have not seen a seizure over a one year period this huge in probably the last five or six years," said Alexander.

The seizures included 6,000 pounds of marijuana; 565 kilograms of powdered cocaine, 302 kilograms of methamphetamine and $3.4 million in cash.

Alexander said a 30-person unit, which was responsible for the seizures, worked to persecute people they thought were transporting drugs into the community with the intent to distribute.

Authorities also arrested 989 people.

All of the drugs were intercepted in DeKalb County with information from tips and patrolling.

Although Alexander is proud of the seizures, he says his department will "stay in this fight and we're going to do everything we can in this county to keep this county safe."

If drugs were legal that would be $3.4 million going back into the community and 989 people with legitimate jobs and sources of income

Now we are all paying for them to rot in jail and god knows convicted drug dealers can't get real jobs.

What a sad ugly cycle this is. Not to mention if they caught all this imagine how much is really going threw to feed the black markets.

Thats a lot of coke weed and meth.

Philippine National Police anti-narcotics agents inspect crates of the illegal drug methamphetamine they seized from four men in Manila Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 at suburban Paranaque city, south of Manila, Philippines. Philippine police arrested four men and seized 1.3 billion pesos ($30 million) worth of methamphetamine on Friday in the second large drug bust in Manila in 10 days. The men were in a van loaded with six wooden crates containing 272 kilograms (598 pounds) of crystal methamphetamine when they were intercepted by police, said Senior Superintendent Bartolome Tobias, head of the Philippine National Police anti-illegal drugs task force. The arrests followed a tip from an informant. (AP Photo)

MANILA (Updated) -- Police arrested four men and seized P1.3 billion pesos ($30 million) worth of methamphetamine, locally known as shabu, on Friday at Marina Bay in Paranaque City.

The men were in a van loaded with six wooden crates containing 272 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine when they were intercepted by police, said Senior Superintendent Bartolome Tobias, head of the Philippine National Police anti-illegal drugs task force.

The arrests followed a tip from an informant.

The arrested men were identified by police as Robert Tan, Oliver Tan, Markjun San Gabriel at Felino Lopez.

Radio report said Tan's group were paid P70,000 to deliver the wooden crates from Sentosa Complex in Parañaque to Cavite. The group denied knowing the content of the crates.

Last week, the National Bureau of Investigation arrested four Canadian men suspected of trafficking drugs from Mexico in separate raids on posh condominiums. Agents recovered 100 million pesos ($2.2 million pesos) worth of cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA, which is similar to Ecstasy.

Tobias said police are investigating an "unholy alliance" between Mexico's Sinaloa cartel and Chinese drug syndicates operating in the Philippines.

"We have to move fast to nip this partnership in the bud," he said.

It was not immediately clear if Friday's seizure was related to last week's arrests.

Last year, Philippine authorities seized a record 4.6 billion pesos ($101.5 million) worth of crystal methamphetamine, seven times more than the combined amount over the previous four years, according the Arturo Cacdac, chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Another 5.3 billion pesos ($116.9 million) worth of other drugs and drug-making materials also were seized in 2013. More than 8,600 people, including 73 foreigners, were arrested on suspicion of drug possession and trafficking. (AP/John Carlo Cahinhinan/Sunnex)

All these arrests resulting in tons of drugs being seized and ot lieterally does nothing for this pointless war on drugs.

These people caught will rot in cells and it will do nothing for this pointless war on drugs.

Where there is demand there will always be a market and business men willing to fill the gap and make the money, the sooner we realize legalize and regulate the sooner this money all become legal and helps places where money is needed to fight poverty and crime rates will be diminished to nearly nothing.

Two kilos of 'cocaine' seized in Liverpool pub raid

Two men and a woman were arrested after police seized what was suspected of being two kilos of cocaine and £10,000 at a Merseyside pub.

Officers from Merseyside Police’s Walton Lane station raided the Greyhound on East Prescot Road in Knotty Ash shortly after 4pm today.

The search involved the pub and the flat above.

Police said approximately two kilos of a white powder was found in three rooms of the flat.

The substance has been sent for testing but its is suspected of being the Class A drug cocaine.

A large amount of cash, thought to be up to £10,000, was found in a plastic container.

Two men – aged 18 and 48 – and a 56-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and money laundering.

Their connection to the pub is not known.

The Greyhound was closed down on the orders of the police.

It is understood Liverpool City Council licensing officials were also involved in the operation.

Inspector Maria Hoogendyk cct from the Liverpool North Tackling Gangs Team said that the force was pleased with the discovery.

He said: “This is an excellent result for the police and the local community.

“We have acted on information provided by the public about criminal activity in this area and have taken what is potentially a large amount of drugs off the streets.

“Merseyside Police is committed to tackling drug dealing and organised crime in our communities.

“I would urge people to keep supplying us with the information we need to take positive action.”

Drugs worth $2 million allegedly found in possession of 30-year-old and pilot, 61, also from Canada

The Associated Press Posted: Oct 18, 2014 6:14 PM PT Last Updated: Oct 18, 2014 6:14 PM PT

An aspiring model and a private pilot, both from Canada, have been arrested on federal drug charges in Southern California after authorities say they arrived from Las Vegas in a private jet carrying drugs worth roughly $2 million.

Krista Marieann Boseley, 30, of Vancouver, British Columbia, and her travelling companion, Gilles Lapointe, 61, were arrested Oct. 9 at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, according to federal court documents filed with the U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.

Authorities were alerted that a plane previously believed to be involved in drug trafficking was about to touch down at the airport, the documents said. They observed Boseley and Lapointe getting out of the plane and approached and asked to search their bags as they rented a car.

The two consented to the search, the documents say, and with the help of a drug-sniffing dog authorities found 50,000 Ecstasy pills and about 90 pounds of raw MDMA in their luggage.

MDMA is a powder used in Ecstasy and the club drug known as "Molly."

The two also had a combined $20,000 in cash, which they said was from winnings at a Las Vegas casino.

Calls and emails to Lapointe's attorney, Matthew Lombard, were not returned Saturday.

Boseley's attorney, Victor Sherman, declined to comment.

Boseley is a former real estate agent and aspiring model who had an online modelling profile until this week, when it was taken down, according to The Vancouver Sun.

Boseley and Lapointe are due in court Oct. 27.

Media Release: Drugs worth $1.5 billion seized by Joint Organised Crime Group

Release Date: Saturday, November 29 2014, 02:29 PM

This is joint media release between the Australian Federal Police, the NSW Police Force, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, NSW Crime Commission and the Australian Crime Commission.

Six men have today been charged by the Joint Organised Crime Group (JOCG) for their involvement in the attempted importation of almost three tonnes of MDMA and crystal methamphetamine (ice) into Sydney.

This seizure is estimated to be worth up to $1.5 billion on the street.

The illicit drugs were intercepted by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service officers at the NSW Container Examination Facility and were hidden in a mixed container load of furniture and unmarked boxes.

Police will allege the consignment with an estimated weight of almost 2 tonnes of MDMA and more than 800kgs of methamphetamine was shipped to Australia from Germany and arrived into Australia on 19 November.

Police conducted a controlled delivery of the consignment to an address in Blacktown where its contents were removed and transported to another location.

The six men were arrested in the early hours of this morning when they were found accessing the boxes from the consignment at an address in Smithfield.

The men are all Australian residents and range in ages from 23 to 34.

AFP Commissioner Andrew Colvin said agencies are working together harder than ever to stop drugs from entering our country.

"Working together as a part of the Joint Organised Crime Group, this seizure represents the second largest in Australian history and is worth up to $1.5 billion,” Commissioner Colvin said.

“This seizure represents another success for law enforcement in halting illicit drugs bound for Australia.”

“This seizure represents the second largest seizure in Australian history, which proves law enforcement agencies are working harder than ever to keep drugs out of our community.”

New South Wales Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said the significance of today’s seizure cannot and should not ever be underestimated.

“Today the NSW Police Force’s Organised Crime Squad, with its partner agencies, has taken billions of dollars-worth of illicit drugs off the streets just before the start of the summer party season,” Commissioner Scipione said.

"This highlights just how effective joint agency operations are at targeting and disrupting these criminal enterprises coming into the country."

“These illicit drugs are hideous poisons that ruin not only people’s lives but they destroy families, entire communities and have the potential of destroying a whole generation."

“Today we have successfully taken an enormous and unprecedented portion off the streets of New South Wales and the effects of this great seizure will be seen far and wide across the Australian community,” Commissioner Scipione said.

ACBPS Chief Executive Officer Roman Quaedvlieg said that a seizure of this quantity reinforces our belief that amphetamine type substances are a growing threat to the Australian community.

“The importation of these substances into the community is being orchestrated by serious and organised crime groups, and stopping this is one of the services’ key operational priorities,” Mr Quaedvlieg said.

“The detection of this consignment shows the critical role that Customs and Border Protection plays in operations like this.”

"This seizure is also testimony to the dedication and persistence of our officers."

Australian Crime Commission CEO Chris Dawson said the results reflect outstanding collaboration between law enforcement agencies, but said the job is not finished.

“The hard work starts now, we need to continue to apply pressure on criminals who import illicit drugs and capitalise on this significant blow to their industry,” Mr Dawson said.

The men have all been charged with attempting to possess a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug and will face the Parramatta District Court today.

These charges attract a possible penalty of life imprisonment and investigations into this matter remain ongoing.

The JOCG is a multiagency investigation group comprising the Australian Federal Police, the NSW Police Force, Australian Customs and Border Protection Service, NSW Crime Commission and the Australian Crime Commission.

Stills and footage of this interception are available by contacting AFP National Media.
