Same sort of thing happened to me, was on opiates (fent/methadone) for 5 years age 17-21 and once I got off noticed more hair growing in a few places it hadn't, I also believe smoking weed all day messes up your hormones' and possibly test

Actually anytime quit opiates I Have the opposite problem, I m horny all the time and have hardcore premature ejaculation. It s a bummer but kratom, benzocaine condoms and last but not least...time should do the trick. But the post physical w-d depression can mess with your libido as well. Personally drinking some booze with my wife helped us out , not a big fan of alcohol but is the only sex friendly drug for me .

Well, kratom for me is a life safer both for opioid w-d and post w-d premature ejaculation. But I ve never taken a 40-50 grams per day like many people here hence I dunno

I lose weight on opioid due to eating less…not sure about muscle because I never had a ton despite being defined but no mass.

No ED at all but total loss of sex drive but as I’m withdrawing I get horney again and it all comes back. Like on opioids I’ll go a month without even jacking off or months without sex

Well done! especially getting off the methadone. Many mates of mine have been hooked to that shite for like...20 years now, maybe for some hardcorers can be a lifesaver but for the majority of H users is just an overkill, trading an addiction with a worse one.....

It’s a great question. Most people on opioids don’t even realize that their testosterone levels are being inhibited. I’ll share my experience with you. Over half my life spent on methadone, heroin, and fentanyl more recently. All day, everyday. Last time my testosterone levels were tested (while on opioids), I was at 18ng/dl. Doctor thought it was a mistake, said that 18ng is roughly what a pre-teen female would have in her system.
My sex drive for over 20 years was 0/10. Absolutely non-existent.

I got on suboxone, and within 6 weeks my levels were already up to 300ng. So to answer your question, NO it’s not permanent. If my 27 years of hard core use didn’t kill my testosterone production, it certainly wouldn’t do that to you after a few months on tramadol. I question whether the tramadol is even responsible for your issue. You should definitely see a urologist/endocrinologist and make sure there isn’t another issue there.

Also, I should mention that even with my levels so low, I never experienced erectile dysfunction or gynecomastia. You might have elevated estrogen. Definitely get checked out before doing the TRT mate. Best of luck.

Good for you mate. I know from experience how hard it was to beat methadone. Even harder than fentanyl imo, due to the ridiculous half life.

Yea Its more one that you gotta do slow, I was actually lucky that where I live the option to go from methadone to slow release morphine was available and tapering off that I think is easier as it only lasts 24 hrs vs methadone a couple days

Interesting, never heard of morphine being used to treat addiction. For me, I was on 90mg of methadone. simply dropped the methadone, switched to heroin, then used the Burnese method, slipping in suboxone little by little. Started with 1mg, continued to do heroin like normal. After about a week I was up to 4mg of suboxone. Continued doing heroin like normal. By the time I got up to 6mg, I couldn’t feel the tar anyway. So I just stopped the heroin, continued with the subs. Easy peasy, zero withdrawal.
