Is it time we overthrew the Monarchy?

The Queen should have retired 20 years ago, no wonder she always looks so fucking grumpy. Let Charles have a crack at the whip for a decade or 2 until William and Kathryn stake their claim. The British Royal family has had a huge upswing in popularity since the Queen in aprticular was seen as badly handling / misunderstood thhe way she dealt with the Diana debacle by shutting herself away in Balmoral and keeping the stiff upper lip. It is a shame the Queen is so scripted in everything she does, she quite catches people completely unaware with her humour and wit when that's the last thing most people expect imo.

We should let Charles be king just for one day, then declare a republic. The new name of the country can then be the Former United Carolean Kingdom .....

At least the queen was game enough to do that little sketch with Daniel Craig at the Olympic ceromony (good evening Mr. Bond)..... And she parachuted out of a helicopter. I know some said that was a stunt man and not really her but bullshit........ It was her :)

Dont you think he's earned more than that by deliberately refusing to keep his silence on poliitical affairs, saying things he knows damn well hes not suppose to, that interview with Nicholas Witchell where Charles can clearly be heard muttering on his mike that he cannot bear that man. =D

Please don't get me started on the old bag whem it comes to lady Diana. I mer Diana when I was 7, doing gymnastics. She was my firsr princess. I remember seeing her in a lovely suit n thinking "she doesn't look like a princess, she hasn't a long dress, long hair etc. I wasn't able to speak to her as there was so many but she was more attentive to those with impairments n whatnot. Although no convo was exchanged n she'd have never remember me, she always had a special place in my heart for the first prince I ever met n more so through later years as I saw her work on the TV n after she lost her HRH she still used her status to do good.

I was absolutely devastated when she died which is made when I think of it because I did not know her personally but for me, a small part of the country died when she died. I truly loved her. So beautiful. After her death I prayed for her boys in my night time prayer n still, to this day, include them - which is strange as they're grown men now with their own lives - but royalty or not they lost their mam n I canna begin to imagine what that was like for two small boys. She only wanted them to have a normal life n be haply.

I saw Princess Ann ;when they had build n open a bungalow at riding school I attended. I did not think much of her the whole thing was phony. For a start she wore gloves like as if we're all diseased n then had her assistent (Pemny, I think she was called) hand out rossettes. I'd have thought more of hervif she had have handed thrm to us herself.

As Queen Elizath at the local uni. Wasn't bothered aboutbgoing but my first ex was rather posh n well into The Royal Family so thougjt I'd go for him. Think it was the year 2000 - there was armed police on the roof it was pouring it down n the only pleasure I had was when we were leaving.

I've mixed feelings about Charles n Camilla. I don't know him personallynto make a proper opinion of him. I hear mixed things about the love-affair but do have to say I can't dispise them for being in love. She was married n for some reasom he was never allowed to marry Camilla (back then) but Diana Spencer was a perfect choice due to
Circles etc. I donfeel that if they loved one another (Charles n Camilla) that it's good they're allowed to be together now although I feel a traitor for feeling that way. Primce Charles has dome good charital work the princes trust has helped lots. What I dislike about him is his love of fox-hunting. I understand that foxes can be right smelly, annoying pests but how does that justify getting dogs to tears a creature up. It's a fucking brutal way to kill an animal n I do find it difficult to understand how Prince Zcharles, and others, can enjoy such a barbaric n vicious act. Is fox hunting still hammed? I hope so.

It's nice to see Prince William haply (if he is n it's not an act) n I like Harry n hope he's happy. We've seen those two grow up into fine, young men. There's something cheeky about Prince Harry that I can't help liking. And what is with royalty always using similar names for their offspring like George I Understand that they must be careful with names n not pick anything "common" but come ON wjy must it slways be similar names so we have to go 1st, 2nd, 3nd etc?

The Monarchy…fuck me we’re still living in the dark ages.
The peasants ruled by Kings & Queens…kneel, bow & courtesy before the Royal bloodline.
Fuck you…bow to no-one.

It’s nothing more than a mental construct as is all the societal nonsense. I’m your Queen…eh no you’re not your just some old free loading fucking Dinosaur.

People are literally falling over themselves to be ruled. The KKK believe they have superior DNA which allows them to rule over those who are different…same gig. Bunch of racist pointless individuals allowed to flourish by our lack of cohesion as a group.

ah yes, the original parasite scribbling dross & begging charity from wealthy benefactors

yes, the useful idiots of the left are merely the medium being used to force communism by stealth on the british people

this is no era of conservatism. the public are bewildered by & do not support the tide of isms, rights & thought crimes

foisted on them by the left intelligentsia/media cabal yep, revolutionary justice will be patriotic & aimed at the left!

Hilarious!
Keep em coming, guy :)

It's just the slightly more modern version of the john birch society - and just as barking (and don't get me started on what they seem to think cultural marxism means...). To be fair to the 'right' the elites as they are will use any superficial political appearance to further their aims, whether it's farragian/trumpist 'populism', blairite-style political correctness, or when the back's really against the wall, a bit of FDR/keynesian social democracy (which they'll then get rid of once the public no longer look like a revolutionary threat).

The thing that makes the elite 'right wing' isn't ideological as much as structural; the furthering their aims bit - class interest if you like. Looking out for people who are similar to you is human nature, it's just that when the people like you are other mega rich people, the power that flows from your wealth enables you to do something concrete about it - like make government serve the interests of the wealthy. This is why they hate democracy - if it functions correctly it should mean that poorer people's interests are most looked after, being the majority (the extent that this is or isn't the case tells us how democratic a society is).

I believe you are looking at things the wrong way. The current royal family owes you nothing, in fact the subjects of the Commonwealth owe them.

You have been lead by a family resulting in prosperity unheralded in history. World Wars have been won, the majority of the globe conquered and exploited so you can sit at home, watching the BBC, with free healthcare and enough social security to not have to worry how to feed your child this Easter weekend.

From Queen Victoria through to the current Monarch, hostile invaders have be defended and the riches spread far and wide to their loyal subjects. So what if they have amassed a fortune, after all it was their money that initially funded the exploration and subsequent expansion of the Empire. It has been the successful and just leadership over the past 300 years that even gives you the basic right to complain and ridicule them without fear of execution.

There aren't many royal families in Europe that can boast a perfect 3-0 vs the Huns.

I agree with you that we should be aware of how much our current wealth as a country derives from our imperial past, but i'm not particularly happy about this - in large part the welath derives from things we've taken off someone else - is it our right to have this stuff because we had cannons? Even though we sometimes contributed to the development of the countries, it was often like in india were we built railways...but only connecting the bits were we had stuff to sell from - not for the benefit of the locals. Bengal is a good example of our great empire: they were a rich province that was world famous for high quality textiles, which may not have been that far off from its own industrial revolution - after we'd finished with them, they mostly produced raw materials which were sent to the north of england to provide the basis for our 'industrial miracle' - along the way we went round chopping off the fingers of their skilled weavers so they coulnd't compete with us, then by introducing experimental free market policies knowingly caused a series of famines resulting in tens of millions dead (the last bengali famine happened under churchill in the 40s, killing 4-6 millions: churchill's reaction 'is ghandi ddead yet?'). Imagine what the world might be like if we'd cooperated with bengal and encouraged their own indigenous industrial revolution.

The way i see it is our current wealth in no small part derives from imperial actions that would make hitler blush (we were his biggest influence after all (especially the indian bit)) - given that, the least we can do is send some of that wealth back to the third world in the form of investment (and not the rapacious corporate kind we currently do) - as shown by the marshall plan, this would actually benefit our economy anyway so wouldn't even need to be altruistic (i know how hard that is for some)

cultural marxism
Ah yes, that other batshit label spawned from the paranoid conviction that we are living under commie hememony that spawned from a small group of intellectuals that somehow - covertly, and without disrupting the constant rightward-drift of our Western political system - took over the world, creating this socialist dystopia we find ourselves in.

Liberal use of that expression is a good indication to stop listening, reading or talking to whoever says it though - so it has its uses..

How about this for a conspiracy theory:

It's the top levels of the Civil Service that really run the country. The Government are just there to take the credit -- or the blame. Low-ranking Civil Servants are easily replaced; just a few of them will be selected to be groomed for eventual Jobs For Life. Cabinet Ministers are basically clueless about what their Departments really do (after all, it's not like we have a Housing Minister who used to be a builder, a Culture Minister who has ever actually tried to make a living out of their art or an IT Minister who has been a top contributor to a major Open Source project). They rely on the Civil Service to tell them what to do. Even when the music starts and everyone switches seats, and the New Brooms threaten to sweep clean, there is just too much inertia within the Civil Service for any real change to come about. The System is set up that way on purpose.

I've always deeply admired the Queen and her late mother, Queen Elizabeth. She is a great ambassador for Great Britain, and above politics. She serves humbly.

It won't be the same when she's gone, however.

On the other other hand, I am cynical about politicians, international corporations, and bankers.

Seems it's all becoming more about money than breeding.

I'm pro monarchy definately. That may make me the equivalent of Hitler, Stalin and Bin Laden rolled into one in some people's eyes but fuck it. I think the royals are positive for Britain and couldn't give a fuck if anyone disagrees.

There is no difference to an empire run by a monarchy to one that runs an industry. The windsors simply manage the business of land and entertainment much the same as the rothchilds laud over banking or Murdoch's media business eventually hands onto his sons.

If times get so tough that King George the how many suddenly needs to float the royal family on the Stockmarket to liquidate some cash, anyone of you might be able to acquire a majority vote on the board room at Balmoral.

The current royal family do their jobs well enough so as to starve off any hostile revolt, no differently than a mining magnate needs to keep their workforce happy so as to avoid a crippling strike.

There will always be families who pass on their wealth and social position to their children. No point being jealous or feeling sad about what life you have been handed, it is what it is. Personally I hold no one man in more reverence than the next until they prove it otherwise.

so mentioning cultural marxism is all it takes to avoid sanctimonious pathologically-altruistic spacejunk shite?

noted.
