Benzos how addictive is xanax?

Highly addictive. I started out on ,25mg, now I'm up to 4-6 gs a day. The minute I wake up its the first thing I think about, a cuppa tea, fag and xanax. Xanax has ruined my life and I dread the day when my supplier either gets caught or runs out. Xxx

you make them addictive there is quite a few of us that can handle xanax just fine
does it provide me relief hell yeah does it do it efficiently yes if you suffer from legit anxiety and panic disorder xanax can be a god send
and yes its easy to keep taking xanax, to increase the dosage because i know it all to well, when you feel like doggy shit and nothing else helps its natural you go running to them
to say its addictive is no different from alcohol being addictive, coffee being addictive, porn being addictive
its all about will power i have been on xanax for 5+ months i dont crave them, i dont use them for rec use even during a panic attack i hold off sometimes
benzos are nothing but band aids they dont cure anything just makes it easier to cope with shit
which in fact is fine we all need a bit help here and there
i personally look at xanax or any benzo like i look at Tylenol take as needed

Honestly it just depends on the person. Some get addicted some don't. Hell I got addicted to GABAPENTIN. Yes gabapentin. But not xanax. Just tread carefully

If you take it long enough you WILL become physically dependent. I think most in this thread haven't taken it for an extended amount of time.

I guess I shouldn't have said most... But either way my comment was directed towards the people making it out that it's not that addictive.

what is the point of taking xanax for a long period of time ?
seriously anxiety and panic disorder can be beat
my $0.02 most people just want to take the easy way out by popping xanax like candy
if you have an underlying medical condition then it would be a no brainer to get treatment

can someone compare xanax in addictiveness to a bunch of other drugs?
All depends on how much of an addictive mindstate you have.

but i can tell you this:
If you pop them daily you will build up tolerance FAST. then dependence (you cant live without xanax) i mean,....xanax has a short half life compared to other benzos' (Klpin for example).
but god damn, benzo dependence/addition is a reallll bitch. the withdrawals can land you in hospital. I have had heroin addicts tell me that benzo withdrawal is worse then years of heroin use and withdrawal.

moral of the story - utilise them WHEN YOU NEED THEM. and you will make the most of it,

reminds me of a video i saw yesterday:

I think being a Schedule 4 drug is right on point.

Most opiates are Schedule 2, as they should be. Opiates IMO are WAY more addicting than Benzos.

Though, a Benzo addiction is much worse, because the W/D can kill you.

Opiate W/D is more uncomfortable, but Benzo W/D is way more dangerous.

one thing that I've learned from bluelight is that many addicts have convinced themselves to believe that a very large percentage of humans simplay cannot survive without the use of certain drugs...who knows, maybe they are correct. how mankind evolved to this point considering there was a time when these drugs did not exist? maybe there was a point where the weak just died off and faded away until we got to a point where modern medecine and technology found a way to keep them alive, thus generating profit. None of us can say for sure.

Well, outta the benzo's it is my favorite that i've tried, I would say it's the most addictivie(maybe not the most but what i've tried which is Valium,Klonopin,Etizolam,Ativan,Tempanepam(once)...I say it's more addictive because of the short half life, so you have to keep re-dosing. Benzo's like Klonopin and Valium last all day for me with with two doses..but xaxan is really meant for panic attacks so it hits hard and quick, so outta the benzo's I would say thats why its the most addivtive one...comes on in 5 mins, short half-life. I love the shit, lol. But if I ever get a script I want Klonopin, to me it's like the Suboxone of Benzo's, or the 3mg Xanax time release, because it does work very good for anxiety to....but ya, it's the short half life and it coming on so quick for people who have panic attacks(what its made for). I'm on 6mg right now, and had a lil Suboxone with 200mg of tramadol(so strange how trams make you feel opiated on Subs and its the weakeset thing) And had 2 grams of gabapentin when I woke up with my first dose of 2mg Sub.

I think addictive mindset has little to do with the addictive properties of alprazolam. In fact i think the entire whole "Addictive mindset vs. non addictive mindset." argument is like 99% of the time total bullshit. Some drugs may only be psychologically addictive and to a lesser extent than most other drugs, but no one is immune to addiction or physical dependency. I've met so many people that "don't have an addictive personality", but I can't name any of them that have managed to pull that off for anything remotely medium-long term.

Personally i do not find xanax to be addicting. I have been taking xanax for more then a year now, but very occasionally(once every 3 weeks or so, in doses 1-2mg).

As far as benzos go, alprazolam is one of the more addicting compounds. As others have said though, it varies from person to person.

Almost everyone who abuses Xanax are polydrug abusers who are already abusing other drugs. Most people who take benzodiazepines as medically prescribed do not up their dosage and the amount of people with a primary drug addiction to benzodiazepines is very low. I don't think that they're particularly addictive. Getting off them after long-term use often requires medical supervision, though.

If you take it long enough you WILL become physically dependent. I think most in this thread haven't taken it for an extended amount of time.

Being physically dependent because of your length of time using is different than the drugs addiction potential. The former could likely happen to many people who are legally prescribed to take Xanax daily.

you are taking the prescribed dose, that is why you are not getting high off of them or addicted to them. more power to ya.
