Ecstasy, a sexual drug?

MDMA is affectionate for me, not sexual. Sex HAS happened before, though, but I don't really perceive it as such. I always have fun either way! <3
 
for me, sex is part of the continuum of affection/intimacy. so when viewed from that angle, yes, mdma is a sexual drug.

it confuses me how making out, cuddling, touching isn't sexual? while one may not end up with intercourse, it dosent mean something sexual didn't happen.

also confused about the view that childlike = non sexual. kids ARE sexual, just not in the same way as adults.

I know it sounds strange to say that "sexuality" and "intimacy" could be at odds with each other since we use them synonymously, but I do think that for many people sex is about achieving a release, either for themselves or for the other person. It's a goal that they work toward, not an opportunity to simply be close to one another. MDMA is a fabulous tool for building relationships because it shows us that aspect of intimacy, where simply being with someone is euphoric. People often find this so at odds with how they've experienced romantic relationships before (e.g. mutual goal-seeking) that they find MDMA to be distinctly non-sexual. Others for whom sex is a natural consequence of that closeness find no issue with MDMA and sex.

(Note: There's nothing wrong with simply treating sex as a release -- it doesn't indicate anything "bad" about your relationship, simply that you view it from that perspective.)

Then again, there's the whole other issue of "amphetamine dick" caused by the physiological effects of the drug, but I don't think that has much to do with its psychology. 8)

I'm with you OP, I never get horny or can even THINK about sex while I'm rolling. My husband is the same way, and like you said, maybe wayy after the peak e have sex, but that's different because that's once we are completely done dropping for the night. To me it's more about love and just enjoying my surroundings with the people I love.

To summarize and answer your question, it's a combination of inhibition, impulsiveness, seeing and feeling as if everything is new, and lack of a sexual element in social interaction, that defines the child-like state to me. I don't attribute a lack of ulterior motives to this term, because I believe that kids are inherently selfish for purposes of survival (so will be able to have an "ulterior motive" if it's to their benefit) and that selflessness is a learned behavior. But that's an entirely different discussion. ;)

Well put! I too feel that "child-like" state while rolling. I tried to explain it once to my husband but he totally didn't get it. But the way you put it is exact. It's like being in Kindergarten and everyone in the class is your friend, even if you don't really know them.

I have felt pretty sexual while rolling though. Then again, I've laid in a pile of mostly naked people massaging each other and kissing and there was not an ounce of sexual feeling in me.
 
I sort of feel the same way. While sometimes, yes I can get horny but very rarely, most of the time the sexual aspect - for me at least- is really more of "If this will make you happy and roll harder then I will do it simply and honestly to enhance your roll".

There's no sexual desire in me to get a nice hard fuck or anything, rather its the desire to serve and please and make you feel overwhelming pleasure, even if the action may appear to be 'sexual' in nature.

Only had it once, when feeling really close to uhh, two people really, that I came in the mood. One of them had the same urge.... The other was getting sick while walking to the tent and started puking; nice....

so, it's rare, and indeed a very empathic version of horny :)

Agreed, affection and intimacy can naturally lead to sex, and in that sense, MDMA is certainly sexual, as it increases the need to be close with others. Not everyone seems to see sex as a necessary achievement/goal/end to cuddling, though. And to those people, perhaps cuddling does not seem sexual at all. For me, MDMA seems to affect my perception of intent. A sign of affection received while I'm rolling will appear to be a sign of friendship, while the same sign received while I'm sober might easily be interpreted as flirting.

About the childlike thing, it's my best attempt to characterize how MDMA makes me feel, in this respect. It's idealized and imperfect, so don't take it as a claim of fact in any way. Kids sometimes do act sexual, it's true. Hopefully others who see where I am coming from will offer a better explanation of what we feel.

Ahhh! That's how it always is for me too. It's like my parts don't... work at all, but the action and the act of giving pleasure is just... nice. lol
 
MDMA usually makes me very horny, but I'm usually having such an amazing time anyway that it doesn't matter that much, meaning I won't pursue sex or anything.

Not that I would turn it down either though, I seem to be one of the few that can get an erection while on E, and the sex I have had on it was amazing. I'm a total cuddler anyway though, so I'm usually in heaven afterwards!!
 
I always have my boyfriend with me when I roll, the first time I did it, we were "spoken to" in the bar at a rave, because I was on his lap and he had his hand up my skirt. To our credit you couldn't see anything and the bouncer watched for a good 20 mins before deciding we may starting taking our clothes off soon. He was very polite about it though, actually told my bf he was jealous, heh. Anyway, back to the question. Typically, I am very, very sensual, sex can be overwhelming. I would rather touch and rub than have sex, be close.

Personally, I don't find e to be sexual AT ALL. I don't think I could ever have sex on it, unless maybe it was well after I peaked. I've never felt sexual towards anyone while on ecstasy. I've wanted to and have kissed people, hugged, cuddles etc but it's definitely NOT sexual whatsoever. I've done E with my ex boyfriend plenty of times and sex has never even crossed my mind. I just wanted to hug him and be super close and snuggle, kiss, etc. Even then, it's not sexual, its not even about a physical attraction to him, or anyone I snuggle with on it.
Is it generally easier to have sex once you are coming down? I know a lot of guys can't get an erection on ecstasy either, so that wouldn't help. lol. So, for me, when people ask me if ecstasy is a sexual drug or if it makes you want to fuck people, I always emphatically say nooo. I have heard from the odd person though, that its very sexual for them.

So am I in the minority or the majority here?

Yeah, I never felt really horny while rolling much, although I do sometimes, I generally never did.

Its funny, ud think at raves with girls dressed up slutty taking drugs that people would be fucking all over the fucking place, but it rarely happenes (have seen it a few times though lol)

Its more of a sensual type of thing with me.
 
It's funny, the more people I talk to, the more males mention they can't get hard on e. My boyfriend never has a problem, quite the opposite, :) . Strangely enough though, I seem to like rubbing against the texture of jeans more than having sex while roll, haha.
 
Thanks for all your answers! So interesting. I guess what I mean by sexual, is getting turned on and wanting to have intercourse. I was just thinking and I guess when people do feel sexual on e, the difference is proly that it becomes more of an intimate, like the feeling of being so close with that person type thing as opposed to wanting to get off and feel good? Like, I definitely want to snuggle and be super close with the people I'm around on E, esp. my good friends and its amazing. When I did it with my ex, we touched a lot and were definitely super intimate but the act of actual intercourse just didn't appeal to us for some reason, like we were more content just being so close to each other. We didn't feel "turned on" if that makes sense.

My sister was telling me that she doesn't find ecstasy to be a sexual drug either, but that her and a guy did have sexual intercourse while on it, but that it was totally different. It was more like, they just wanted to be as close as possible to each other, more then to get off or achieve orgasm.

I also knew a guy, my friends ex-bf who did E with her and then masturbated to porn for hours. :-S So yeahhh... lol. It wasn't too long after that they broke up. It totally ruined her roll and she ended up laying in bed by herself totally grossed out by him. So, I guess for him it was a whooole different story, he clearly didn't want to be intimate and just wanted to get off... I dunno, he was fucked haha.

This is more appropriate for home parties/rolling, though. If you're open enough with your friends and can have a bit of agreed casual fun, then things can get interesting (FTMFW as they say). If you can set up an atmosphere for it, it can be both sensual and sexual. And it tends to make people lose inhibitions (not like alcohol where you make dumb mistakes) in a good way. You're comfortable talking about stuff you secretly like (and then possibly doing it 8o). That's the best really. Doing a long-standing sexual fantasy for the first time while rolling. Oh YES.

Great for couples too.

It's hard for me to understand how people cannot ecstasy to be highly sexual. I take it and my female friends suddenly look like angels and what not.

Wow lol this site never ceases to amaze me! Ok girls so you say that ecstasy really doesn't turn you on etc. Mind telling us what actually does? It's probably opiates...just checking ^_^
 
^ No, it's cocaine. Cocaine is the drug to turn a woman on.

Anyway, I have several female friends who get really turned on by ecstasy. So it's not them all. Maybe they're not getting actual MDMA?
