Dating a stripper.

I used to know strippers in Soho, London. Most of them were perfectly ordinary girls doing up to 20 strips a night. Virtually none of them were hooking.
Just treat her nice and make her feel safe when she's with you.

I'm seriously offended by many of the comments in here. Yes, MANY strippers come from some fucked up backgrounds, but that's why they become strippers (instead of secretaries or cooks or clerical workers or doctors or anything else), NOT the other way around. And it's MANY, not all. Some of the most wonderful people I have ever met have been strippers. Lots of them are single moms that can't afford to feed their kids any other way, or that do it as a second job on top of their "regular hours" job because it's hard to find 2nd/3rd shift work. Lots of them are women trying like hell to get out of the goddamn ghetto because they have no other opportunities.

And you'd be a bit fucking cranky at the world too if the vast majority of the people you came across at work every day treated you like shit.

I stripped for the better part of 5 years while getting through college, and I came out of it with a great degree (at the honors level) from a great university, which has gotten me a fantastic job. I currently have a boyfriend whom I love and he loves me back, and our relationship is not dysfunctional - in fact, he's the best person I've probably ever had in my life, and we both respect the fact that we've been shit on by our respective exes to a ridiculous degree, so our relationship is very strong because we understand how vulnerable the other is and treat the situation with complete compassion and respect.

Strippers are PEOPLE. Some people are bad, some people are good. When you date people, you have to assess them for who they are as people, not for what they do or where they live or how they dress or how much money they have. That works the same for everyone, everywhere. Treat others with respect, and accept nothing but respect from others, and you'll come out ahead no matter what.

I am sick to death of hearing about how everyone "knows" how "all [insert type of person here] act [negative stereotype]".

A lot of strippers do sex for pay on the side.

I'm not saying that if you are a stripper you will do sex for pay or that all of them do this but it is something that does happen with strippers and I have friends who did strip and they told me how they or their stripper co-workers were into doing sex for pay while stripping.

I have straight male friends who are in relationships with women or some who are married and their GFs and wives are fine with them going to strip clubs but they've told me how female strippers would come up to them and tell them how if they paid for it they could easily sleep with one of them.

It's not a huge jump or a woman to be a stripper and then wind up being a prostitute on the side.

My female friends told me how lots of men would want more than just a lapdance or to see them dance on stage and they would accept expensive gifts from men for sex and even men who were their regulars at the club would start to want more than just a dance.

Then there was the issue of seeing other women who were doing sex for pay and stripping rake in more cash and the jealousy and catfights that can happen because of that, or how other strippers will tell people to avoid a certain girl.

Having sex with someone who is a prostitute does up your risk for HIV and other STDs.

I'm a gay man and I've never dated a female stripper or had sex with a woman.

I wouldn't date a male stripper since when I've seen them at bars and clubs they're very narcissistic, and they just want your money.

Most men into stripping are not my type at all since they have completely shaved and waxed their bodies and have fake tans.

Kinda. I wasnt really dating her, at least not officially, but we were hooking up pretty regular for about 3-4 months. I really liked hanging out with her, she was fun to be around, but man, whoever said that all their gf talked about was the club....I can totally relate. Id just tune out when she started doing that. Ended when she went to dallas to be a lighting tech for a bunch of the concerts out there.

Another ex-stripper here. Single mom working towards an engineering degree now.

I was a stripper for 13 years and I don't regret it all. People can makes lots of judgments but I never prostituted myself out, even though I knew quite a few girls who did. I have good friends now that are hookers, but because that is their chosen career path now doesn't make them any less human.

And there are crazy people anywhere, whether it is in a strip club or even in your classroom.

tell me about it!

while I have not officially dated a stripper while she was stripping, I have dated a girl right before she got into stripping and dated a girl right after she left stripping

both were beautiful, and while they both might have had some issues (who the hell doesn't these days?), they were still great girls that I think about often

if you're the jealous type, don't even dive into this swimming pool. thankfully, I am the least jealous person you will ever meet (to a fault, I'm told) - so this never bugged me. but don't try to be that wholesome Joe College fuck that tries to turn the girl's life around for the better. she is doing what she wants to do and is most likely okay with it, she doesn't need to be penetrated with your idiosyncratic social mores anymore than she already is (blindsided with btw)

I work the same hours in bars (used to coming home around 1 AM -3 AM) so the hours thing doesn't get to me

all in all, just treat her with respect - like all women. be thankful that you got a girl that can give you a sexy dance like most girls could only dream of doing. and maybe try to get her to invite one of her co-workers over for a couple drinks one time?

I'm seriously offended by the STD comment, btw

for example i live in miami and in miami there are neiborhoods that are all mighty and fancy and there are neighborhoods that are just plain messy and ghetto . now if you work at one of the really nice exspensive strip clubs were you have bussines men is suits the girls are actually treated with respect you cant even dare touch them and they look out of this world good ..

but if your in my part of town the strip clubs are ran by DRUG DEALERS! ok!! not an old man in a fancy tie a fucking fat drug dealer that is a delinquent and most probably has no respect for girls, there are crack heads, there are nasty Mexican construction workers and those girls are down right ghetto and dirty and they WILL suck your dick for $40! those girls go through shit !! they usually have pimps and they get beat on alot

about two weeks ago i rented in a motel (was rolling) thats on a strip with alot of other hotels/motels, strip clubs and sex shops . they were putting on some local low grade porn and i was fucking amazed at how many girls i knew where on there. now this isnt a good production company these are local guys who are from the same part of town as i am and these girls were doing some very naughty dirty nasty things!! girls i went to high school with and the guys were soo nasty ewww !! i mean i can tell there just trying to make a few bucks lol . pretty amusing !

the good news about dating a stripper would be that you wouldn't ever have to worry about coming home smelling like baby oil after you were out at the strip club.

I will chime in here. Yes, I've dated a stripper. Ask me why? Her body, OMG talk about a body. It just screams "fuck me!!!" However, she was/is totally, and I mean totally fukked in the head. The sex was grrrrrrrreat, but the relationship aspect of it was so fukking volatile it was just ridiculous. It lasted about 3 months.

I think I have a little experience to chime in here also...
I dated one for about 2 years, for 1 year of this she was working as a stripper. Then I married her.

Her body screamed "fuck me"
Can you imagine, short small, thin, cute face but perfectly contortioned silicone to which you couldn't even tell she had implants, you just thought god has blessed her with the best breasts ever. It was only after about 1 month of sleeping with her that I realised she had implants after I saw the small scars at the bottom of her breasts. Maybe I was stupid but they were that good that you couldn't tell they were silicone.

To see her once a week or once a fortnight (like it was in the early stages) was fantastic, never had better sex in my life. But....the relationship aspect is totally f*cked due to volatility. Whether it be daddy issues, f*cked up past or whatever, it was like impossible to maintain a daily level of etiquette or respect. If she got the sh*ts, she would just go out, leave her phone at home and come back drunk when she pleased.

It became a toss up of how much sh*t would you take in order to f*ck her when you could, because I couldn't just picture myself pulling a bird as hot (at least without paying).

If you could imagine dating a nurse or a mature age university student or something you could expect some peace and quiet in your life, but dating a stripper while extremely fun and sometimes extremely sexually satisfying, I just don't see how you can have a "normal" life per say even after they have finished stripping unless they have a big personality change within themselves.

They are people yes, but you will get pissed off in the end if you try to shack up with one for the long run because the character of a girl who is or has been a stripper is not one which is in line with nesting up at home.

Yes unfortunately I have dated a stripper. Totally dsyfunctional. I was studying at uni and her lifestyle was basically: Wake up after lunch, go stripping at night, get smashed on drugs n booze, come home at 7am when I'm getting ready for uni and then go mental because I wouldn't fuck her. She was a very bad influence, it was alot of fun, but ultimately bad in the long run.

Strippers lead such out-there lifestyles which are incompatible with most normal folk.

This. I'd say definitely do it for a while but don't fall in love. Remember strippers aren't people like you and me :)

Having read the thread I'd like to confirm that the above is indeed a joke. I know quite a few strippers (none that I've ever seen dance) and they range from batshit crazy to having their own business & degree and being some of the most driven and together people I know. Plus they are super hot :)

^ taking his other thread into consideration, i'd reckon they're no longer married. ;)

Its like Jeremy Piven said in The Goods: Live Hard Sell Hard....there are three types of strippers (paraphrased)

1)Shes working towards a degree and needs money for college.

2)Shes a single mom trying to support her kid

3)Shes got a serious drug habit to support

I have slept with several strippers, but my rule of thumb is to never date one.

I for one don't want the girl I am in love with grinding up on strange men half naked in a seedy back room.

just my opinion.

this is a good point, what does everybody else think on this topic? if you're with a stripper, do you think there is any chance at all you can live a "normal" (more or less) life?

that aspect never hit me, because I'm in a rock n roll band and that more debauched lifestyle goes hand in hand with strippers really :\

dude, never gonna do it. I just think id be sitting at work or home imagining my woman blow some guy cause he slipped her coke.

Fuck that, but then again im a little jealous and know it.

Also from their job, they develop an inherent skill to manipulate men more so than a normal girl. They look at men different and use sex (indirectly) to get the result they want. I'm not saying they would be in a relo with you or just any guy if you were fat and ugly but if they are keen on you and you start a relo with them, they have an ability to manipulate you more than say a nurse would!
