Consequences of importing meds into Aus?

Just go to the chemist and ask for some original Sudafed , they might ask for ID and take record it but who cares if you actually have a cold.

I believe it's now prescription only. The stuff you can buy OTC is the PE stuff, a replacement so there's less of the pseudo-based product available in the community.

Incorrect

Bottom line is: Do not import pseudo-ephedrine into Australia.

Nabollocks is right, it's not Rx only but it is Sch IV, meaning a pharmacist has to be involved in the transaction (at least in QLD).

I wouldn't bother trying to import a controlled (without prescription) or prohibited substance into Australia. I Have tried 3 x times before and was succesful on only one occasion. And that only because the oversea source was kind enough to re-package. Its not worth it and too risky. I am fairly sure these days AU customs dont even send out "love letters" anymore because many of the overseas sources offer free re-shipping upon presentation of a seizure letter. This might depend on the substance you are trying to import though but even with a seizure letter your money is gone , your address will be most likely flagged with Customs and who kows, we might be seeing you starring in a special of Border Security on channel 7. :p.

I know this has nothing to do with drugs but if I may just add, I tried some 2 or 3 years ago to import a protein powder from an American website into Australia and it didnt make it beyond customs lol. I dont know maybe the webiste had been flagged but this shows you how strict Customs are. Must have been someone very eager ;-) It really sucks. I am from Germany originally and customs over there are nothing like this. Sure AU Customs and the strict laws around drugs are in place to ultimatly protect and save lives but in the end I don't want and need other people to make decisions for me as to what is and what is not good for me.....just my opinion.

I use to import Viagra from CHina and Pakistan all the time. I didn't have any problems but as long as the packaging is small - I guess it's less suspicious that way. I find it harder to buy Viagra in Australia than I do online! :p Since when do you have to "prove" you're sexually dysfunctional to get a prescription! Anyway, I'm new here. Just popping by to say hi.
