I just got this in the mail from amazon today.
"Bioperine is a pure form a piperine, derived from the fruits of black pepper. Studies indicate that bioperine promotes nutrient absorption (*and by virtue drug absorption*). This is due to bioperin'e interaction with the surface of the intestinal tract."
From wikipedia:
The full mechanism of piperine's bioavailability-enhancing abilities is unknown,[13] but it has been found to inhibit human CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein,enzymes important for the metabolism and transport of xenobiotics and metabolites.[14][15] In animal studies, piperine also inhibited other CYP 450 enzymes important for drug metabolism"
I was unaware it was an hepatic enzyme inhibitor. That's interesting. It seems it's a pretty unknown one.
I can't comment on its effectiveness yet, as I've only taken my second dose and have take anything with it yet as I have to wait 60 min, but I will report back.
Does anybody have any experience with this?
