I just got this in the mail from amazon today.

"Bioperine is a pure form a piperine, derived from the fruits of black pepper. Studies indicate that bioperine promotes nutrient absorption (*and by virtue drug absorption*). This is due to bioperin'e interaction with the surface of the intestinal tract."

From wikipedia:

The full mechanism of piperine's bioavailability-enhancing abilities is unknown,[13] but it has been found to inhibit human CYP3A4 and P-glycoprotein,enzymes important for the metabolism and transport of xenobiotics and metabolites.[14][15] In animal studies, piperine also inhibited other CYP 450 enzymes important for drug metabolism"

I was unaware it was an hepatic enzyme inhibitor. That's interesting. It seems it's a pretty unknown one.

I can't comment on its effectiveness yet, as I've only taken my second dose and have take anything with it yet as I have to wait 60 min, but I will report back.

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Update:

I took my bioperine 60 min before my temazepam and coconut oil, for the fat solubility of the temazepam, and honestly, I never got noticeable effects from it before, and I must say that the bioperine had a noticeable effect: I got dopaminergic effects I used to get from klonopin sometimes, ie it made me want to play the piano and enhanced my focus, I felt super calm and relaxed, yet stimulated and had a sense of clarity and lucidity along with the stimulation. There's no doubt the bioperine was responsible for this increase in effects.

Be it the enhacement in absorption or the hepatic inhibitions...I think it was both personally,

I used to always take black pepper with my turmeric (for potentiating kratom, though it did not work for me) because its been well established that the piperine in black pepper helps turmeric's bioavailability be up to 2000x higher as compared to taking turmeric by itself.

Also, Im not saying that it didnt affect you the way youre describing, but placebo effects can be very strong. Id be very interested in hearing about your second attempt as well.

this was my second attempt. The first one had mild effects, but that time I only took my bupropion, which I have a tolerance too. It only slightly enhanced it's stimulating effects. It's not placebo. I'm well versed in the stuff and placebo effect would not be that strong, as I have taken my other meds, which I take quite a few of, and I can discern potentiation to some extent of each of their effects as well.

It's an enzyme inhibitor, so this makes sense.

Did you take black pepper or bioperine, because regular black pepper won't work.

Oh. Thank you for the study. I stand corrected; I love it when my misinformation gets corrected: I hate sounding like an idiot. Once again, thank you. :)

Anything that those liver enzymes inhibit it will potentiate.

And it promotes the absorption of nutrients, so I'm guessing, all minerals and vitamins.

Just a note for you guys:

I took two bioperines tablets, equalling 20mgs. And I took 2000mg of coconut oil with it to aid in absorption, as well.

Have an enema first - what goes in - must come out
The fact that you are removing waste = the fact that you are getting more substance in your body.
If you think about how you chew on something, it absorbs in your mouth. The more mass, or in this instance, shit in your body, the more high you get. Same as being skinny. Good luck!

generally oral drugs/almost everything one consumes is absorbed in the small intestine. when you give yourself an enema you're clearing out only your lower colon, so no effect on absorption of oral drugs. if you're plugging (inserting intrarectally) drugs then an enema beforehand can assist in increasing absorption, but that's not what's being discussed here.
also for the same reasons as above (calories/nutrients from food are all absorbed in the small intestine), enemas will not assist anyone in their quest of "being skinny" or are really helpful in regards to weight loss at all, unless one is constipated and looking to get rid of "shit weight" from excess waste in the colon.

What about a deeper reaching enema to get to the small intestine? Just keep pumping that orange juice down you, afterall it's all just a big tunnel with no blockage paths.

I'm assuming this is a joke?
that's not physically possible for multiple reasons, one of them being that on the contrary to your theory about "a big tunnel w/ no blockage paths," there are 6 sphincters in the complex workings of the human digestive system ...sphincters which are specifically designed to not allow matter to flow "backwards." an enema does not affect anything but the colon, really only the sigmoid colon generally speaking, perhaps the lower portion of the descending colon.
and are you implying you perform enemas on yourself w/ ...orange juice?
again I'm hoping you just have a strange sense of humour that I am missing the punchline of.

I'll unapprove all the off topic comments now.

the enema comments?
even though my responses clearly fit the strict "pure HR and pure HR only" standard you've set? or have these comments just gotten too old and/or have had at least one seemingly conclusive response and now need to be purged?
or purely because the comments to not by your strict standards conform to the original posted topic despite the fact that they are discussing/disproving different proposed methods of increasing absorption, a topic which directly relates to the OP?
you'll come up w/ some reason or another I'm sure. anything to click those powerful buttons one more time right?

Nah, I was referring to some other posts that had nothing to do with the original question
The enema comments are fine and your answer was great :)
