the official 10-11 NBA thread ver. LIKE A BOSH

I believe Miami will get atleast three rings, possibly 4. Lebron is far too talented, and wade is just a notch below talent wise but has tremendous leadership skills, for Miami not to win a few. Bosh is nice and all, but this team revolves around those two. I just don't think they will win this year. Dallas has the ultimate team mentality and are unbreakable physiologically.

Still picking Dallas in 6, Dallas goes back to Miami up 3-2.

2 rings is the best bet. i just think how will they get better? also how will the teams around them get better?

miami has got the potion made and theres no more improvements coming. ps. joel anthony is probably in his last season. then you have teams like NYC and LA who both have an equal shot at landing Dwight. all the bulls need is a shooting guard that can score. all okc needs is maybe another solid role player and for westbrook to mature. I dunno its just pretty foggy when you start claiming ANYONE can win three rings let alone 7.

but axle is right. its all about tonight. pressure i would say is equally on both teams. although mavs have the comfort of knowing the two games after this are home games.

COME ON DIRK, the man deserves a ring, kidd too.

I'm glad we won, cause that way I get to bitch at just how godawful fucking bad this game was officiated. Most bullshit calls I have seen against the Heat, like, ever. And we still won! Bitches!

If we lost I would have felt like a whinny bitch bringing this up, but I'll be a motherfucker if I can ever recall the refs being so one-sided in a game.

I don't know why I watch this shit. I feel tortured the entire game, with a momentary release upon winning. It's like smoking crack. Two minutes of joy for two hours misery.

But fuck yeah, go Heat. And sorry I disappeared for a couple days after that last loss, but I was depressed. If we lose the series, I'll be here.

And just in case we lose, get your avatar ready, Serious. And remember, I made mine a simple Miami Heat one. I could have been cruel and made one out of one of Dirk's highlight plays to take out the Lakers, but I didn't, cause I'm not a dickwad. Don't be one either. You are free to, and a deal is a deal, but just don't be "that guy".

Don't get too happy 3,4. Dallas wins the next two. And the series. I've called every game since the Lakers series right. I thought Dallas would lose this. They will win the next two. However, autocorrect has made seem intelligent. I've misspelled like ten words in a row. Thoroughly drunk. But still slightly psychic. I'm not worried at all. Amazing game though.

Trust me, I'm not too comfortable. But Miami is the better team, and the only reason they lost game 2 was because they killed themselves by trying to kill the clock and go for retarded 3's with 6 minutes left. Not saying you guys can't win, but the only team that can beat Miami is Miami. And we can do a pretty fucking good job of that, as we have displayed through much of the regular season.

Still, because of bad officiating this game was close enough that The Heat will be on their toes the next game. Hopefully the officiating won't be so one-sided. That was fucked up tonight, those assholes almost cost us the damn game.

But a 2-1 lead against a team like the Mavs is nothing to feel comfortable with. Overall, I think LeBron, Wade, and even Bosh may be better players than Dirk, but he is out of his mind better than everything we have in these finals. This is a man playing like he knows it's his last shot, and you can never count a guy like that out. Holy shit he is playing incredible. Above and beyond where he usually is, much like Wade in '06. Fucking crazy good.

But as I said, if you guys do win, I will be depressed for about a month, but at least I will know that we lost against a team with class who really deserved it. The Heat also have class and deserve it, but we have a shot for at least the next 5 years, and even after Wade gets over the hump there will always be another superstar willing to play with LeBron and Bosh in their prime, if Miami keeps winning.

And Grimble, I usually respect your opinions and you come off as very knowledgeable in the game of basketball, but you are dead wrong about your Miami Heat predictions. Anthony will be here for a long time, unless we find somebody better, and the Architect aka Pat Riley knows how to find the right guys for his team to improve every year. Veterans love playing their later years with the Heat, we have a reputation for being a very loyal organization, which is probably the only reason we kept Wade and therefore snatched LeBron and Bosh.

Yo Wade's putting up Jordan-like numbers. 32.2 ppg in the finals.
And those loose ball fouls were ridiculous....

I'd like it if Dallas wins because Miami has the next decade of dominance to look forward to, maybe they'll have some trouble with New York/Boston/Chicago IF they get new blood, but if not they just have the West to worry about. There's lots of unrestricted free agents that are great prospects in 2011 though. Tyson Chandler, Kenyon Martin, Glen Davis, Nene Hilario, Yao Ming, hell Tim Duncan could be on the market. There's a lot of choices the Heat could get to shore up their 5 spot.
I'd really like to see Dirk and Kidd get their rings.

^^^ wade or dirk for mvp of the finals depending on who wins.

food for thought: miami won by 2, the refs admitted mario chalmers 3 at the buzzer should not have counted because of back court violation

^Yeah but there were so many cheap fouls the other way it has to have evened out IMO.
I think Dallas will win the next game too, they don't seem like the type to give up. They played a great game, they should've won holding Miami to only 88 points.
There were lots of moments in that game that could have decided it in either direction.
Dirk missing his shot at the end was the biggest one because that fadeaway is his trademark and nearly unblockable.

All this proves is that Dirk is human, and that Miami is a good team. Things we all already knew. I don't think Miami is a better team, but they are far more talented. Dirk is better than Bosh at all times 3,4. Wade and Lebron are generally better players, but in the clutch... Give me Dirk 10 times out of 10 in that situation. He is the most clutch player the NBA has seen since Robert Horry. Yes that's not a mistake. Everyone who posts here should realize how average a player Horry was until the final minutes of a game. The difference is that Dirk is a superstar, and he steps it up from there in the final minutes. Horry goes from average to great. Dirk goes from great to Bird/Jordan in clutch time.

And again. I will always say this. Dwayne. Mother fucking. Wade. He is hands down the best player on that team. Lebron has so much more raw talent and ability, but Wade has the intangibles. Wade needs to start being compared to all time greats in all sports. Jordan, Mr. Earvin "Magic"Johnson, Mariono Rivera, Joe Montana, Tom Brady and Dwayne Wade. There will always be more talented players in the league, but never one with more drive. I know he doesn't have the rings, but he has the same demeanor as those all time greats. Dirk is like that as well, but man I like that guy. Fuck Lebron.

^^It must be if you count on Cowherd for vindication and respect.

Go Heat.

Yeah he did. It's a shame he didn't think of that in 06. I guess Micky Arison was a bigger spender back then.

Except for the Chalmers missed back court violation/3 point make which made the difference in the game. ;)

But yeah, Miami got fucked over the whole game. :|

lol refcalls.com says it wasn't a back court violation.

They're saying the officiating was biased in Miami's favor though! All those ticky-tack loose ball fouls were outnumbered by the numerous uncalled travels that the Heat committed.

One flaw in their methodology is that you can't predict whether or not a foul that results in a turnover was part of a possession that would've led to points.

totally disagree with miami and multiple ring thing though. the way I see it this team is a 2-ring max for potential. think about it, they are the best they will ever be imo with the way they are constructed. wade-bron-bosh are all in there primes and miami wont be getting any other players who are above anything other than a role player due to how much the big three suck out of the salary.

the current cap is a soft cap, and as the years progress, Miami will get the benefit of mid-level exceptions that'll allow them to add pieces they can't currently afford. I've heard the argument made that this year's team is the worst Heat team you will see for many years to come.

Dwayne. Mother fucking. Wade.

He is hands down the best player on that team.

Lebron has so much more raw talent and ability, but Wade has the intangibles.

I *LOVE* Wade.

LOVE him.

But mentioning him ahead of Kobe is simply PREPOSTEROUS.

Kobe's a better shooter, a better scorer, a better defender, and was the driving/co-driving force behind FIVE championships.

He also plays through pain and despite injuries at a high level - Wade, on the other hand, misses chunks of games regularly.

And Kobe is still only 32 years old.

If the Lakers sign or trade for just ONE more excellent player, Kobe could very well get to 7 or 8 rings.

Wade won't even get to that number, even PLAYING THE BULK OF HIS CAREER WITH LeBRON.

Hate on Kobe for whatever reasons you'd like - but he RELISHES the idea of being the man, and winning titles WITHOUT another superstar (a la MJ, NOT a la LeBron or Wade).

You Kobe-haters can't have it both ways.

It not fair to laugh at Gasol's monumental melt-down in this year's play-offs without conceding that Kobe does NOT have a top-notch dependable second STUD - even MJ had superstar Scottie Pippen for every single one of his titles.

Until and unless Kobe passes MJ with 6 titles as The Man, MJ's still the GOAT.

But Kobe is CLEARLY second.

Wade's great, too.

But so are Bird, Magic, Hakeem and a few others.

Point being:

Fuck LeBron.

don't forget about Kareem. I hate the Lakers, but he still remains as my favorite center of all-time. plus he was in the Stand:
