EADD Heroin thread v.XXV -- a quarter centuary of threads if not yet a full decade since the 'drought'...

Saw a couple of old friends on Sunday and picked up a few bits - the brown was ok nothing special 7/10 BUT the white, extraordinary ,by sight it appeared to be .3/.4 and it was proper, high pitch frequency sweaty stuff - looking fwd to cleaning out the pipe later..

How everyone's gear doing at the moment?

Had some weeks away from my usual lad and upon returning it seem the bits are smaller and weaker. It look kind of like crushed up bourbon biscuit but not quite as dark. Few small solidish nuggets throughout. Bits also seem a bit smaller. Yet to get from my other connect so will be curious to see if he's got same stuff.

Has anyone else noticed a dip in gear recently? I was advised to be careful with my stash over Christmas as they suspected a shortage might have been on the cards - anyone able to shed light

Geographically I'm in a big North West city that isn't Manchester. Looking forward to your responses...

Bumped into an old (at this stage) connect who was wondering why they hadn't heard from me in so long. Anyway long story short, they gave me a tester of what turned out to be 7/10 stuff which is leaps and bounds over what I was scoring before I did the kick that time. None of that watery running orange/red bash. Seems things are looking up with him, though even throughout the rough patch around christmas/new year his was always the best of what was around. Only person I'd ever go to with cash were I looking.

Been smoking the last 48 hours from the same score as I got a few in one go. It's not that great compared to what he had in 4-5 days ago sadly.

See how dark this stuff is!!!!!!

Yet again Fate has dealt me bad cards, time to stock up on Toilet roll for the next 3-4 days.
Do you use Loperamide at times like these, or do you 'tough it out' with no remedies to make things easier?

Lope helps massively, but I guess sometimes there is some truth in the old Dad-joke "better out than in"which I know usually refers to farts, but could equally well apply to liquified stomach contents. Maybe more so if you've eaten something dodgy.

Just sit it out.
Never been on Methadone and only used Bupe for a few days.

I personally don't believe in taking more Opiates as you delay the hard truth of the situation.

I'm very Stoic in my view to opiate issues.

Well if that is the case, then I can honestly respect that.

Personally Stoicism is definitely something that I am working on, but will always fall short. I think even Marcus Aurelius admitted that even he did, but he kept trying.

Also I find it's a hell of a lot easier to embody stoicism after consuming benzos, as stoicism then comes so very naturally and easily it seems to me. Anything can be faced, and taken in stride, (up to a point) with the strength and tranquility these things can provide.

It's so much harder without, or on the rebound, and although I have much less experience with opiates I think that exactly the same thing applies.

Easy to be stoic when opiated but very hard when w/d ing from them or craving for them.

I truly respect anyone that can be stoic in such circumstances.

So according to Wedinos.org is Xylazine seems to be taking over as a common cutting agent in street H. Apparently that is what killed the people in Birmingham earlier this year.

Also benzo related but i'll post it here since the majority of the Nitazene discussion is in this thread. Nitazenes are benzimidazole-opiods, do we think perhaps the people pressing these into benzos could be mistaken and thinking that means they are related to benzodiazepines?

We all have to accept Truth, everything comes with a price and usually added APR rate we can't afford.

You smoke PV for 3 days you'll have to come down, as Opiates are a withdrawal from life the flipside of it is to awake from the slumber.

All the blankness and ability to sleep for 12-16 hours is ALL paid back. William S Burroughs said it best in Junkie / Junk at the end when his going down to find Yage. That book speaks 100% Truth about the high and withdrawal.

As my mother always says "You make your bed you sleep in it"

I've spent way too long with homeless junkies, sex workers etc to view addiction anyway other than the Raw Truth & I don't tolerate bullshit or people crying about their habit. Anyone who goes back to Heroin after being sick once KNOWS the cost of the lifestyle & in my lived experience the long-term Junkie is made of very strong stuff.

I've had NOTHING for several days now, I used over 1.3 grams in a day, I'm ill right now but am I crying? Fuck NO.

I made my bed and I'll sleep in it too.

This reminds me of the brilliant film "Ray" about Ray Charles. Highly recommended viewing.

During the peak of his success, he becomes heavily addicted to heroin for some time, this concerns the people in the music industry that manage him etc, but he then suddenly decides to quit due to something his mother says, IIRC.

He goes completely cold turkey with no remedies, despite the best / most expensive Drs calling in on him and telling him that they can help make things a lot easier for him, he sends them away. And he goes through it the hard way.

The worst of the physical issues seems to be over in about 5 days, but then if you get struck with PAWS afterwards then that's a different story.

All of this is why long term use of heavy opiates is not for me, I know that I can't deal well with the the physical and mental roller coaster ride that using and then having to go through WDs at some point involves.

Amen to that, it's actually worse than the effects on the body during the withdrawl.

I'm kinda Tough in the head in the way I think but I Promise you Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome isn't normal depression.
You still have NO choice but to face it head on but it's not good.
