The Farm Bill has much more in it than hemp and THC.
Earlier this month, President Biden signed a stopgap funding bill that Congress passed with bipartisan support, which funds certain aspects of the federal government (including agriculture) into…

The hemp additions made a loophole which shops have been pushing to the limit a little bit at a time. That, and other things in the bill have been complicated enough that Congress has just done an extension of the 2018 bill, for now. Expect them to redo hemp.

Initially, the ∆8 THC, HHC, and similar were a nice thing for occasional users to take advantage of but not much more than a novelty for stoners. However, the THCa bud, which has been kind of a secret online for years, 6 months or so ago exploded in the local shops.
All bud is basically THCa bud, it's what the plant makes. they just minimize it's conversion to THC.
So, yeah, for now you can buy bud in smoke shops nationally.
Pot is getting pretty accepted and the powers that be don't know how to test for the various permutations, so they haven't cracked down, per se. They are aware of this stuff, though, and there's scares to be drummed up and votes to be gotten.
My state just legalized and they are moving to crack down on this "legal THC". Most of the existing bans on it are in legal states, so that's common. There's profit to be had.
On a national level, last I heard on the new farm bill they were increasing the THC allowed to 1% but making it applicable to "all isomers of THC". This will affect smokeable bud, I think, but maybe leaves edibles open to allow.
We'll see. Film at 11.
