College What did you major in college?

Electrical engineering with a planned minor in computer science

What actually happened was I stayed up for days doing Adderall, drinking, tripping, rolling, smoking weed and opium, and doing just about everything else I could get my hands on. I flunked out of state college with a first semester gpa of less than 0.65.

I studied drinking beer and chasing skirts. J/K, I changed majors multiple times so that when I finally decided I was tired of school, I graduated with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies, concentrations in Anthropology, Spanish, and Business Administration.

Grad school was a little more focused. Got an MA in Anthropology (cultural subfield).

@Nas47, did you study all four subfields of anthropology (archaeology, cultural, biological, linguistics)? Or did you just work in archaeology?
I learned only archeology in University. It's consist of various subjects-tracology,numismatics,roman architecture,prehistory-paleolith and neolit in Balkans, ethnography.Antropology is just passion, like mithology and religion.Three years study with exams here -gives you "specialist",that is nothing.anothet year-bacalaur and another one magister of science-that's how is education structure in university...Got ofcourse in the summertime expeditions on teraine-measurments,digging works, preservation,a lot of imaging, mapping a catalogue work with found artifacts.Very interesting, but a lot of time in libraries too...

just a NDGAA, its a work shop academy, for certification, not as fun as JC , but i am a MG , dont need a license but am , and i have PhD in xyz , the dissertation was a beeeeeeeeotch
idk wtf u txtd

wow , Philosophy of Physics is a HUGE subject nowadays, I´ld love to know more about but I...suck at Math physics etc ( which is bad, for my line of work cos lots of metaphysics etc is done using formal logic) I work on epistemology and philosophy of religion from an '' analytical '' perspective. Stuff like Proof for and against the existence of God, the epistemic status of religious beliefs etc etc. Plus, depending from which part of the world you are- your finances etc I think a PhD is still doable ( I had and am supervising people that are like 20 years older than me). It would be cool to do a PhD just for knowledge sake and not have to worry about getting an academic job publish or perish and all the other academic BS....
hi skip, welcome!

sweet!! we didn't do much of that, cos i was doign joint honours (w physics) it was really bare bones for different areas of philosophy, but we did descartes meditations and intro to epistemology. like the chicken sexer, russel's teacup, and then moved onto the nature of truth. got well pissed off that they were insulting our intelligence by saying 'Tarski's work was definitive in this area but is too difficult for us to go into here,' but then when i did Tarski's undefinability of truth in my masters i agreed that shit was too hard for 1st year philosophers.

yeah my masters was partly because i felt that i needed all the formalism to do philosophy properly. but i'll tell you right now mathematical logic sounds well cooler when philosophers are using bits of notation etc than it is when you're actually trying to learn it. some bits of set theory were ace, like the axiomatisation of arithmetic, but my brain could not cope with the axiom of choice or transfinite numbers. incompleteness theorem blew my mind, just the number of ideas in the proof.

i think what really put me off the idea of pursuing a phd in philosophy of physics in my retirement was realising that most likely everything i knew about quantum mechanics, which was a fair bit given my phd was quantum information, would probably be out of date by then. having to relearn serious physics doesn't sound as relaxing.

This is a hard topic to face for me

3 1/2 years undergraduate with a major in forensic psychology

Apparently I'd rather just marry narcissistic sociopaths and give them children. My entire life makes for a great case study lol

I am great at starting everything but never finishing anything. Plus I can't sit still long enough to oblige any curriculum without 4 or 5 bathroom breaks just to break the monotony

English Literature in my first Bachelors - which bizarrely led to a job in Corporate Finance

Industrial Relations in my second Bachelors - but it was really the history of outmanoeuvring and crushing organised labour

Applied Economics in a Graduate Diploma

Anthropology in a Coursework Masters

Finance in a Coursework Masters

MBA/DBA

Creative Writing in a Diploma

PhD (very incompete/quit) in Industrial Relations

PhD (incomplete) in Sociology/Anthropology

Damn

Sorry lol

Thats very commendable! You are very intelligent. I enjoy reading you.

I use to really envy people that were just able to make it thru a 5 day week of 9 to 5 everyday. People are quick to just assume those who can't do that are just lazy but thats not it. I mean there are really people that are just lazy. But this is different. Even before I ever took my first pill or drug I could never maintain the motivation to finish anything. It doesn't matter how smart you are, how attractive you are or how much money you have...if you can't maintain the self discipline required to be vitally productive you're screwed.

Thank you.

I’d also like to point out to the young children watching at home that my qualifications demonstrate the difference between the classes of drugs known respectively as “amphetamines” and “opiates”.

When the time comes, consult your guidance counsellor and choose wisely.

God Bless.
