Why are so many holy men sexist creeps?

I mentioned this in another thread.

I know a lot of white hippies that like eastern religion. It surprises 100% of them how many gurus turn out to be sexual deviants.

Gandhi took a vow of celibacy when he was 38.

32 years later, he was conducting "celibacy tests" by sleeping naked in a bed with young women including his great niece (aged 19) and his nephew's wife.

Gandhi is not popular in India. Don't believe me? Ask the next five Indian people you meet what they think of him. The guy was a fundamentalist nutjob.

Is it celibacy that makes people do this shit?

That's what I used to think, but there are many other non celibate gurus that took advantage of their followers.

School teachers and doctors are also more likely to be deviants.

Is it a power thing?

Is this human nature?

There is no confused emoji?

I'm not trying to make a case for either.

People use wow as a confused emoji.
But I know what you're talkin about because I said the same thing. By the way my response to you wasn't meant to imply you're advocating one major religion over another. Just a key distinction

What I read is that humans are fallible, prone to moral ethical sexual and other failings of character (sin). Hinduism doesn't seem to be as interested in the individual's psychology apart from suggesting it's mostly the product of an illusion from the limited amount I've learned about it probably from Alan Watts

i dunno

i just watched wild wild country, had a bit of that going on. it does have to be difficult if your fetish is to be a cult leader but you lack the charisma to carry it off.

i think the same people who think they deserve a religious following, think they deserve whatever they want sexually as well. maybe?

Good question, also why are so many men in general sexist creeps?
That's probably the more interesting question. I've got a patient with a frontotemporal dementia and he just grabs women's chests and asses withou even thinking about it. Pretty interesting, but that happens when a man's control centre in the brain is damaged

Interesting. My grandfather has Alzheimer's and he literally is living as a 13 year old in his mind. Full on with middle school type behavior towards women

As for the OP, I don't know much about Hinduism but Christianity has something called forgiveness. I'm thinking a lot of them believe deep down that since they ask Christ for forgiveness on earth, their crimes will be exonerated on Judgement Day and therefore in Heaven.

Yeah that's Senile Dementia, or Alzheimer/SDAT as it's usually called. It's a total retrogression of the mind, so you guys are all in for some emotional pain. Your grandfather is probably feeling good though, if he isn't too aware/scared of the Alzheimer. That's another type of dementia, there are a lot of them.

Frontotemporal dementia, as the name suggests, means that frontal and temporal lobe(in the brain!) are attacked by the disease, and therefore results in a total destruction of the control centre within your brain. If it makes you worry less, the chance that he will ever behave like described is essentially 0. Just be there for your gramps, and remember: it's not hereditary, even if many people think so. There is zero evidence to suggest that

I used to work in a house with mostly male residents who all had full blown dementia.

Not all men who have dementia are creeps. I realize nobody is saying that.

I don't like the idea of calling men creeps. Maybe that is because I am a man, but I don't think so.

We're all animals. You can't blame a dog for humping your leg. It is just frustrated.

I worked with a guy today that openly admits he uses his disability to get away with being inappropriate, but he has no sexual outlet and that isn't his fault.

Were you a creep at 13 years old?

I wasn't. I said stuff occasionally to fit in due to peer pressure, but most young men I knew at the time didn't have a toxic attitude towards women. I honestly don't know any adult men who have a toxic attitude towards women.

I don't know, man.

Do priests who rape kids really believe in God?

As I explained, that is frontotemporal dementia, has little to do with Alzheimers.
Alzheimers, Frontotemporal, vascular, Lewy Body/Parkinson dementia, early dementia, and secondary dementias are the different forms,

and all of them have different effects.

In a frontotemporal dementia our control centre in the brain is damaged, which means, that this is what we would do, if we didn't actively work against it. It actually speaks for males, because most of us do behave normally. Just shows that we do need lots of restraint in our daily life, because our instinct is so focussed and intent on copulating

Imo, priests used to mostly be gays and shit in our culture since every other profession required to be married (or something like that). I guess it can be a sick environment.

James Buchanan is the only one who never married.

He was gay.

My initial statement was wrong, but the point still stands. It's fucking difficult to get elected president if there is no evidence you are heterosexual.

Applicants for corporate jobs are often more favourable if they're married. This isn't homophobic. Family men are more likely to stick around. They have responsibilities. Being married means you conform, to some extent, with social expectations. The corporate world likes team players.

Your initial statement - below - was probably (mostly) correct.

I'm not sure any profession ever required marriage.

I'm sure there have been times (particularly when the church ran the world) that married men were preferred candidates for many jobs.

If I was hiring (and I will be soon), a married man/woman will probably be more favourable to me as an employee. Part of this is because I know some of the money I give them will be going to feeding children rather than indulgences, but it's more complicated than that.

I'd be curious to examine statistics about whether or not married employees (or married employees with children) are more loyal than bachelors. My assumption is yes.

I'm rambling.

I've had a long day.

I love it when people say "I've had a long day", and I'm sitting there in my pyjamas eating breakfast :ROFLMAO: 11:32 am

I'm sure sociological findings are in favor of the married man/woman, I was strictly speaking of "requirements"
There shouldn't have ever been any, albeit strongly in favor of their employees leading a married life
