Opioids Heroin question- newbie!

I just started using heroin about a month ago, and I've looked for this in the threads but haven't found anything.
I've only used IV, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I notice when I get high that I get some goofy vision problems. Mainly that I can't focus unless I just only look out of one eye. And if I'm not forcing myself to focus my left eye starts drifting outwards.
Plus a lot of times I'm seeing double. A couple times I've reached for something and been off by 6 inches.
Is this, um, normal? Why didn't it start right away?
Thanks for any advice!

It's called diplopia. I've had it happen before on opioids when I was nodding or close to a nod. It's a pretty common side effect but I think some people are more susceptible to it than others. I only really got it when I was close to ODing. It was really strong for me the time when I'd taken way too much oxymorphone and benzos. Perhaps you're taking a little more than you need?

Are you testing your heroin to see what you're getting? I haven't mess with H in a long time now due to it mostly being full of fent and other RCs along with who knows what else in the cut.

I might be taking more than I need. I have been considering that, and wanting to cut back (lol so easy).
I'm not really sure how to test it but I'm positive it's cut with fent. I took a test and it came back positive.
I'll try to cut back a bit and see if that helps. It does seem worse towards the end of the day when hubs and I are fighting and I know I shouldn't do another shot but I do anyway.

What made you take up heroin so recently if you don't mind me asking, was you on pills before starting heroin and do you and your other half both take it daily?

I was a heroin addict for 4 years over 18 years ago so I'm just interested in other people's story's really, I do other drugs bit not heroin, still deam of it which is crazy as its been so long since I used lol

Thank you!
I have chronic pain (neck, lower back, pelvic floor) and I do my PT and have had a load if different tests and injections done, nothing helps. I get a small amount of low dose painkillers every couple months, and I had a source for pills for a while.
I asked my brother if he could get me pills and he could get me this. [I used to be an IV meth user, had been clean for 15 years and relapsed last year for about 2 days and threw it away.]
I thought why not, I have this complicated relationship with my brother anyway, and this gave us something in common too.
My husband just found out about 2 days ago that I'm using something, he Googled it but can't tell if it's meth or heroin and decided he doesn't care he's just worried about me and wants me to stop.
We drink together, but he doesn't even smoke pot anymore.
Sorry I'm jumping around a bit, I'm at work lol.

My brother gave me my first taste too, I was about 16/17 and I was taking base mainly (UK amphetamines not meth) and smoking weed and hash now and then, I'd tried coke and crack a couple of times too but I liked my base, anyway he had something he called brown and no speed/base so he let me try some telling me I have to have it injected

I later find out you can sniff it or smoke it, he said you can't

So from then on I fucked off all drugs and decided to just take my favourite heroin but I met a bloke who only smoked it on foil so I just did that too till we broke up and I started injecting

We gets back together not long after and he'd started injecting too so we hit up together from them on, I then quit aged 21

I've been addicted to benzos and tramadol since but not anymore but now I have fibromyalgia and my doctor won't give me anything decent for it, just amitriptyline lol

What painkillers does your doctor give you?

Your husband doesn't know if it's an upper or a downer lol, bless his innocent ass that's quite funny when you know they're totally opposite drugs lol

5mg norco, 20 at a time, and I try to only ask for a refill about every 3 months.
My husband is a sweet innocent lol, I bought a burner laptop and it's plugged in under the bed (cord running under the bed), I've left my stuff sitting in a bag on the arm of the couch, he never opened it or moved it.
Apparently he walked in on me shooting up and that's how he found out. Then he snooped until he found my stuff. He got offended when I said he was snooping (I wasn't mad, i owned up to it, i was asking questions)!
He just kept staring at me intensely and saying "I love you. I'm worried/scared". He did that all effing day in this creepy voice! I was relieved when I found out it was just him busting me lol.

Didn't he see your stuff on the arm of couch lol? He probably did but had no idea what it was, is it white heroin or brown?

I just imagined his weird creepy voice integrating you lol

I hate it when men try and come between me and my drugs, my ex did it, he thought he was better than me as he finally quit coke but I still wanted to do K which he knew I wanted to do on occasion, well now we broke up nearly 5 months ago and he's still messaging trying to get me to reply to his emails

Why if he was soooo much better than me, he's either bored or fell off the wagon lol

So yeah men should just leave us to do our drugs shouldn't they, are just fuck off if they don't like it lol

Men and women do this. The reason for this is that they want you to be part of their life, but not your drugs. Specially if someone has known you before your addiction. I have had so many girls thinking they can "save" me but all they do is fuck themselves over trying it.

Well I was only drinking when we started dating, we got married 7 years ago. I just started using pills and then IV drugs in the last couple years. So not so much that he's trying to save me, he's just really confused and I'm self destructing I guess.
But really I just wanted to know what was up with my vision and my eyeball going all crooked on me. Since I work on a computer all day it's leaving me kind of dysfunctional.
It's hard not to want the rush and the mood elevation, but really it's an amazing pain killer.

I have this too, that i can't see. I think it's normal, not any signal of anything worse going on.
I really feel bad for you guys, i wish you could get help. You both need it, your husband might be in really bad place because he has not time to think for himself because he's so worried about you. I get its good pain killer, but just wait till it hijacks your reward system if it hasn't hijacked it already and you can't get joy from anything else. If the rush isn't so important why the fuck you IV?

My husband experiences the vision issue too. It’s quite often. When he’s tired, it’s worse. I Worry about him driving and doing too much at home and at work. I’ve no room to talk or judge but I am on both sides of the fence here. It’s confusing! I worry but I also worry him too! 🤦🏻‍♀️
I also have chronic pain so I understand! The fentanyl part is what scares me the most. It’s so unpredictable.

I think that's really sweet that you think he's that worried about me, and he may be as of a day or two ago. There's a lot of stuff going on in our marriage and we are trying to get help, it's too long to put here but half the time I wonder if subconsciously I'm trying to get his attention.
Yes I've tried to talk to him about it too. Marriage counseling, etc. Idk, if you never developed chronic pain that affects your sex life let me tell you, it puts a strain on the marriage. Then we've had some crazy shit happen on top of that and we are both coping differently.
I did say I liked the rush, but also I'm an IV user, there's something about a needle that doesn't compare to snorting or smoking. If I'm going to use hard drugs, I'm going to shoot them. *shrugs* I mean, I'm using heroin as a painkiller, are you really going to nitpick the way I use it? I smoke cigarettes too.

I wish you the best. I know there's something special in needles, well not just something, it's the thing that it hits you instantly and has the best efficiency. Over time you get so hurry after getting the drug that you just can't snort it. But i have really never seen long term IV use lead to anything good. Fucked up veins, death, addiction and desperation.
Maybe i said it little bit rude about IV'ing in my previous posts - but really, many people use the same thing as you as an excuse.
I can't say about you surely, but i have heard it. "Oh, i can't do it myself my friend helps me so i have no risk of getting addicted."
"Oh, some more times! I'll just use X time and it's OK."
"I'm using it for X reason and will quit when it gets better!"
Most of dope use is self-medication, i get that - but i wish you can keep it OK. I think IV use is the most hardcore way of use and it leads to much harder health problems than any other, so i think it's worthy pointing out. I wouldn't call it nitpicking.
However, best regards and i hope you can get your relationship to work.

Yeah, I know this side effect too and ever only had it from decent doses of opioids (I happen not to nod even when I overdosed.. just at some point I'd pass out and, depending on dose, wake up again.. got hospitalized twice, once was a suicide attempt, the other an accident, but both times no naloxone and guess I'd have waken up again by myself..). Starting with AH-7921, here it was most pronounced, then with H but faded away with tolerance and time... never did IV though, thankfully, and wanted to ask why don't you just rail the H when you're using as a painkiller but you seem well to know what you do? Yeah I smoke too, again, as the e-cigs didn't cut it for me. Still wanting to try some self made super liquid (nicotine + harmaline).

Just lost a potential gf due to .. differencies .. about drug use, and lost my first long term relationship finally due to the same. You're somewhat lucky with your husband I guess ...

Thanks :)
There is something special about needles, beyond their efficiency. It's pretty much an addiction in itself. Plus I really hate snorting stuff (smoking is okay, but I won't snort anything- I'm weird lol).
I didn't mean that I'm using heroin as medicine so it should be fine, I mean it's already so over the top to use heroin as a painkiller that the way I use it isn't the issue, if that makes sense?
I'm not making any excuses, I know what a stupid decision this is. I've run out and had to apologize to my brother for not realizing how horrible "flu-like withdrawal symptoms" really are.
I just wanted to see if anyone else had experience with the vision issues.
Thank you for responding, I appreciate it.

I knew this speed addicted girl who would shoot water if she didn't have speed. Needle addiction is a real problem.

@Literally_nethng

Like other said it's completely normal on strong/higher dose opioids and kinda annoying sometimes.

Be careful with needles bro, I've smoked and snorted way more than my fair share of heroin, but always stayed away from needles after having an experience in a hospital where I had IV morphine on demand any time I hit this button (some beautiful nurse would come and put morphine in my IV)....

I knew after that point that I can never do IV opioids again, or IV anything really.... that burning sensation going up your arm, hitting your chest and then you're with the angels

snorting/smoking is good enough for me. I'd probably be dead for sure like several of my friends if I used needles.

Stay safe man.
