NEMD Metal Up Your Ass! The MetalHeads Thread v.VIVIVI

Struggled to get into Abbath's solo wor, but this song is kickass- could be Immortal tbh but with a hint of some other genre. I like the production, the drum sound has grown on me.

The new Marduk album, Viktoria, which I mentioned previously- fuck, guys, it is killer! Took a few listens to understand it, despite the simplicity of the riffs and structure, like any good black metal album, it is through repeated listens that you see the goodness. Its actually quite like Panzer Division Marduk in terms of intensity and feels like a continuation of Fronteschwein through similar production and song styles. Even some of the riffs feel like rehashed Fronteschwein-riffs, but as that was a good album, I have no complaints. I really love the drum sound, its beefy but present and realistic- the dude is a fucking machine too, incredibly fast and precise blasting with good use of fills- not too many, nor too few.

This song is a bit anomalous actually, but it will be familiar if you know how Marduk do their slow songs. Really monotnous riff, ultra-slow, simple repetition, drums simply keeping time. But it does have some blasting (surprise!) in a really effective way. Killer end to this track.

You really like it that much? (The new Marduk album)
Werewolf is ok but tbh I wasn't that blown away by it, each to their own I guess.

Really been getting into Deadlife which is in my view some of the best DSBM I have heard in over a decade, it is just perfect.

Its just really hitting the spot. I've liked Marduk for 20 years, they are like an old friend. I have a general positive bias towards them. Have a deeper listen, there are some really great riffs and fantastic drumming.

This song kills. I don't esp. like symphonic bm but this really works:

Such a killer album, one of the best 90's metal albums IMO. Perfect melodies, blurry production, distant horrible vocals, out of time drums but awesome nonetheless. The first 2 minutes tell you all you need to know.

Best tracks: Fogs Kiss, Blood Shall Be Shed, title track and the awkwardly named Obsolete Tears :\

Sacramentum: Far Away From The Sun

Came to this "power violence" a bit too late, sounds more to me like Eyehategod crossed with some southern sludge but I love it a lot
