Hi bluelight! I came here today to try and see if anybody has any similar experiances to my fairly unique situation. This drug experiance did not happen to me, but I have been an observer of the person effected for a little over a month. Everybody has heard stories and myths of people going crazy after ingesting acid and never coming back, this story is my experiance with my best friend losing her mind.
I wasn't there the night that C dosed. In fact, the first I heard she had even dropped wasn't until about 16 hours later at school the next day. A mutual friend of C and I, S, came up to me in class and told me that C had a very strange trip the previous night and was still acting extremely unusual to the point where she shouldn't be in school. We were about an hour and fifteen minutes into the school day when the fire alarm went off. During the fire drill S and I devised a plan to go find her in the hall after second period was over (2 hours into school) and escort her out of the building to somewhere safe. After the fire drill, S and I followed our class back to the classroom and shortly after we get back, S gets called down to the assistant principle's office. This can't be good. The bell eventually rings and I frantically search the hallways around the entire school looking for C. No such luck. I walk past the assistant principals office and one of my favorite teachers of all time is standing by the door. I ask if anything is going on in there and she informs me there is a serious situation involving my friends and that I should get to class instead of being around. My heart sank. I leave school with my friend as I was no longer in the right state of mind to be there. Throughout the rest of the school day I am informed of the situation through texting people in the building. I am told that ambulances and squad cars appear at the school to take her to the hospital. I am told that the fire drill that happened during second period was not a drill, but instead a means to get everybody out of the school as the school officials determined C to be potentially dangerous. I am told C was going to be suspended for a long time and S was caught with weed in her bag causing her to also be suspended for a long time.
The next day is the first time I see her since she took the acid. She was very shaken, confused, paranoid, sad, and much more quiet than normal. She was crying to me trying to make sense of everything that happened to her. I understood this feeling as I had a similar experience with an unknown research chemical sold as acid that resulted in complete ego death and hospitalization so I expected her to be very off for a little while afterwords. She told me about her 8 hour visit to the hospital and everything she could piece together about talking to the school and police and for the first time I heard her perspective of what happened during her trip. A lot of what she said was strange and a lot didn't make very much sense if any at all. This was the most normal I have seen her, it has only gotten worse. For example, maybe a week later she calls me extremely excited and tells me "We did it!! You need to come over right now!" So I go and when I get there she is sitting on her computer typing furiously. She proceeds to explain that she has been talking to many famous artists and rappers through Twitter and they have collectively decided to use her as a ghost writer. I scroll through her Twitter that is full of retweets from several artists we both listen to. I am confused as these are all just random tweets saying things I would expect said artists to tweet. I ask her why she thinks they are talking to her and she dismisses my question and explains that through their tweets they are giving her instructions for songs she needs to write. She is almost in tears of joy, overexcited that she finally made it. I try to tell her that she isn't conversing with any of these people but nothing works. To this day she continues to mention how she cannot wait to work with and meet all these famous people that she thinks she is in contact with.
Another delusion she continuously mentions is that her boss at a pizza shop took out a life insurance policy on her and now she gets 100 dollars put in her bank account every day. One day she asked me to take her to the bank and when we got there she showed me a check signed out to her email address and she had these documents that were completely unrelated to banking that she wanted to bring into the bank to show them. She got very defensive when I told her that she wasn't going to get any money from the bank with that information.
At this point, it's hard to even be around her and I hate to say it but I avoid her as much as possible. Sometimes you can have fairly normal conversations with her but in the middle of talking about something she will go off on a nonsensical tangent of gibberish. In fact, most of the time that's all that comes out of her mouth, nonsensical, very paranoid, gibberish.
At first I thought she would get better with time. After my ego death hospital experience I thought I went crazy for a little bit but being a introverted quiet kid, I feel like I kept most of that concealed in my head until I eventually came to terms with everything that happened to me and I got better. But C is very outgoing and most people that communicate with her these days walk away very confused and concerned. It's hard to even explain all of these weird scenarios as I have no idea what is going on in her mind.
Lastly, after this all went down she said she is going to stop using all drugs other than weed, but I saw her the other day and she told me she wants to trip again and this concerns me greatly. She also gets very high very fast off of weed. I saw her take a small bong rip and she was very stoned for a long time which is strange because she used to be able to out smoke me and some of my friends. She doesn't seem violent or dangerous in any way, just very strange and she hasn't been the same person ever since that night.
I have a few questions for anybody who may have opinions
1.) Has anybody experienced anything similar or seen a friend lose grip with reality for an extended period of time?
2.) If so, what did you do to help? Did they ever return to normal?
3.) Should I be worried about her wanting to trip again? I can't mention why because of bluelight rules, but I can make it quite hard for her to acquire psychedelics, should I do so?
4.) Should I consider getting her professional help?
5.) Could she have an underlying mental problem that was brought out by the trip like schizophrenia?
6.) Why is weed getting her extremely high? I've never seen her get so high off of so little weed, this one just makes me curious.
Anyway, thanks for reading if you put in the time, I would love any feedback from personal experience to advice.
