Last year's thread: Festivals 2014

(Mods, sorry if there is a 2015 thread going already, I searched as well as I could but found nothing).

So, who is going where then? I said I wouldn't buy any more speculative tickets for gigs and festivals after missing out on a load of stuff I bought tickets for last year thinking I'd get well enough, which I didn't.

...but then I saw the lineup for Bestival and couldn't resist, never been before but since I went to uni in Portsmouth, there are always a bunch of friends from there who will be going. I checked the T&Cs and they offer medical insurance on the ticket and will refund me for only £3.95 extra, so I've bought myself a ticket - whilst I still have disposable income before I have to move back to London in a month or two!

Mostly looking forward to The Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Jurassic 5, Slipmatt, Rat Pack and Baby D so far :D

Dekmantel Festival, 22Fest, Pitch Festival, Vrijland, Welcome to the Future, Shoeless Festival.. Which are all in Amsterdam ;) I'd strongly advice some of you Brits to make the jump to the Dam and join me

Looks like a good hippy vibe, but the only acts I recognise are the chemical brothers, underworld, Duran Duran (WTF?) & level 42. Shows I'm getting old :-/

No festivals for me this year, i'm sure i'll get over it.

Fancy the Wickerman.

Apart from that it'll likely be wee informal things based around camping in wilderness settings.

I'm too old for anything bigger or messier.

Going to Glasto, and will probably get boomtown tickets. Would be good to see Snares at bangface though and bestival looks awesome this year

Hoping to get to hardshock or dominator this year.

Might also go to this, since it seems to be where most of my friends are going this year. Worth it just for Flogging Molly I reckon!
You won't regret it.. probably.. unless things get messy and you take lots of drugs, which is generally what people aim for at Boomtown.

Also going to oodles of smaller festivals.. looking forward to summer! :D

you guys and your big ol festivals.

me? im probably going to go here: http://electriccastle.ro/en
not the biggest, certainly not the most hip, but the atmosphere there last year was great, as was the crowd, and organizers had a good balance of letting people to their fun and preventing accidents

Thinking about going to Dekmantel in Amsterdam http://www.dekmantelfestival.com/

Anyone here been before?

Yup. Great music, 90% British 10% Dutch visitors.. The Brits are taking over a lot of non-electronic music festivals in NL and are starting to show up in numbers at electronic ones too. Hence the Dutch have started taking over cheaper eastern european festivals ;)

I'm quite fancying me a trip to a festival or another this year... this most likely would be T in the Park again being my local one but I'm not that taken by the line-up. Just having a wee look at other line ups, perhaps a trip down for the Saturday of Download. Muse are headlining & I'd love to see them.

Come to Bestival! I found out the other day that the group of people I thought would be going when I bought my ticket aren't going now due to them all planning to move to NZ (what is it with NZ? Half of my friends from uni live there now, and not all working at Weta either...).

I've even reinstated my efestivals account in the hope I can tag along with some group of randoms from there when it gets a bit closer to the time, if I haven't persuaded anyone else to go by then.

I suppose at least I have a good few months to find someone before September. Festival by myself doesn't sound amazing tbh.
