Sorry, Mugzy. I just can't help myself. 12 Steps manage to combine two of my most hated things in life and do a shitty job at the same time so am prone to a bit of 12 Step Tourette's

My other stock phrase - "Whatever gets ya thru the night" - wins out though so any snidey comments are at the concept (and practice) rather than the individual

(although most 12 steppers i've met i've had to struggle to avoid kicking repeatedly in the balls and/or vomiting all over too - that's surely just coincidence though)

Ya. Read the Big Book when I was properly trying to get of the scag. Is some sense in some of it but then it just turns creepy as fuck. After looking into the history of it and their success rates and stuff it kinda confirmed how it looked to me. Then after meeting loads of zombiefied 12 Steppers during the detox/rehab stage (and since) I got a tad militant about 'em. Evil organisation. In practice if not intent

But it does work for some - fucks far more over than it helps, mind - but for those it helps good luck to 'em
