wow! i was very impressed by that, Joe. at first i was like, fire, really? but then i saw the flames on the clothes and i was like, okay, nice move there bro.

i just got my april teen vogue which besides the adorable little sister 'september issue' is the most important issue this year, since it's all the prom fashions for fashionable teenagers. i was really surprised at how much of it i actually liked. a lot of Louis Vuitton (from this collection), which i always thought was overblown as a brand (which, i think maybe it still is) and a lot of Miu Miu. which i guess doesn't surprise me since their new face is Hailee Statfield, one much beloved in teen vogue land.

also, i really like these DKNY shades because they are betsey johnson rip offs which i know will be like 50$ less and i like ashley greene. although out of all the twilight girls, i really want Nikki Reed to be the one we see everywhere. but ashley looks great

i haven't seen many, but so far the presentation for that louis vuitton show is one of my favorites. very clean yet ornate. starts off with the theme song from Suspiria! and despite my strong distaste for pointed heels and that weird flare out in some of the dresses--to simulate unattractive body lines? e.g. the one elle wore to the We Bought a Zoo premiere--i overall really like the line.

she is young. but i think she's dressed appropriately for her age. the one with the skirt doesn't strike me as suggestive; it's a pretty conservative outfit and they're just showing off that the skirt's a wrap around. but yeah, no doubt: how young she looks is part of her weird, part of her shock, part of her appeal, part of why she's around. she started years ago, which is scary. and there are are some scary looking pics of her in result. not that she wasn't pretty. just too young to be going for the heroin-chic look she can, does, and did do. i don't have any issue with the resulting photographs, but that they stood in rooms where she was dressed, undressed, re-dressed, told to pout, look down at the floor, stare up at the camera, all the while being photographed by strangers. hopefully at least one of her parents has always and still does attend her shoots. not that that's perfect security. that angelina jolie photo and interview snippet you posted or re-blogged on tumblr, Kenickie, was an eye opener. the photo doesn't look that old; crazy she'd did something she felt so uncomfortable with when she was already so A-list and in. worries me for elle.

shame about the sweatshops. nice italy is or appears to be making a legitimate effort to identify and close them. lame comment, but not sure what else to say on the matter. other than italian police sound funny when they speak.

it frightened the living shit out of me. not just that someone violated her like that when it would seem that she would have built in protections (i mean, fuck, she is the daughter of a famous actor) but that it was totally brushed off and ignored! Rolling Stone had no problem publishing it, and no one on the set said 'hey - let's just backup, okay? take a few minutes and figure out what's happening.' elle fanning is a little 'creative darling' atm so maybe that will help her or something, but yeah, not looking good on that front for her. dakota already admitted she felt too young to be in that marc jacobs campaign, so maybe that will help elle along the way? who knows. this is the photo we're talking about:

that Interview Magazine shoot is awesome, Joe. especially the dress/photo you singled out. seems like they (Interview) put some good stuff out. i got the rihanna issue, which is really the sofia/elle issue to me. but in my limited exposure i feel like they often don't include enough photos in their shoots.

wicked, love watching garments being constructed. there's a documentary: Signe Chanel focuses on the preparation for couture. it was a great behind the scenes look. hilarious old french ladies would try to sneak out of lagerfeld's office cause he would crank out sketches in literally minutes, which would be so much more work for an already overworked atelier.
