Uncomfortably Numb: Inside Gaza's Opioid Addiction Crisis

Whilst my views on the whole Isreal versus Palestine conflict arent informed enough to pick a side. Blaming the prescription drug crisis over there on the occupying country doesnt seem like it makes much sense.
 
Black-market tramadol is the major street opioid in a large part of the world.
 
I'd want something a lot stronger than tramadol if I were unfortunate to live in the world's largest open-air prison
 
Some time ago I read the Middle East people were better metabolizers of Tramadol. That would explain in part why they love Tramadol.
 
It could be. Some subsets of Asian people can't metabolize MDMA, I thought. Similarly, with alcohol and lactose, I thought. But overall interracial differences can exceed those between two races.
 
I actually had to take some alcohol classes to see someone in rehab and yes, in fact, that race/region unquestionably does metabolize alcohol differently. It's not a slam racially, many races although pretty similar, do indeed have differences.
 
As an example, Native Americans with alcohol; it seems to effect them much worse.
