You're over simplifying.

Height is a (for the most part) fixed and physical characteristic.

Sexual preference is harder to define and subject to change.

To be gay do you have to sleep with the same sex? Be attracted to the same sex? Or both?

It's possible for a man to make a 'life choice' to sleep with men. Same for females.

No, just giving Muzby a bit of shit. I really don't think he thinks being gay is a life choice, as Im pretty sure people don't have much say in what height they end up being naturally.

I agree with the people who are saying its not a choice, its just the way you are. However one thing i realise is though, a few people i went to high school with have turned out gay, and all of a sudden they now exhibit these over the top feminine characteristics, high pitched voice, body language etc. Before they came out of the closet, none of this happened.

This is why i sometimes think it is a choice, but i dunno, to the gay people out there, what do you think of these kind of people? The ones who flaunt it and decide that now that they are gay, they must speak like a woman and act so much differently than they did before.

This is the people ive met, im not speaking for the wider gay population here.

I always love these subjects. It totally gives an insight into how people really think.

Personally I agree that sexual orientation and gender can be very fluid things. I have always been of the opinion that there is a sliding scale for all of these things with the extremes at each end. Now this can be a lil confusing cos there are more than one sliding scales obviously. mebbe there is one for gender, one for sexual orientation and various others. I think that different people can be at any point on that sliding scale and often their genetic gender has very little bearing on that.

This is very similar to the whole question of bisexuality, I mean there are lots of people that have had sex with their own gender, myself included, that probably would not identify as being Bi.

For myself I have to say that it goes in phases, sometimes the thought of sex with another guy just totally leaves me cold yet at other times if I meet a certain person or if I am in a certain mood then it is totally different. I tend to identify as one thing or another depending on how i feel at that particular time not by what experiences I have had.

I think gender reassignment and sexual preference need two separate threads, because they are two separate things........who you are and who you like to fuck are two completely different things.

On that note, I also think that sexual orientation and sexual preference are two different things as well....you can't control what you are instinctively attracted to, but you can choose whether you follow those instincts or not....

I think gender reassignment and sexual preference need two separate threads, because they are two separate things........who you are and who you like to fuck are two completely different things.

On that note, I also think that sexual orientation and sexual preference are two different things as well....you can't control what you are instinctively attracted to, but you can choose whether you follow those instincts or not....
