Experiences with roadside drug tests

hoptis said:
Was this a booze bus? I would imagine if she'd taken a pill three hours earlier she would most likely have been showing fairly obvious facial signs that she was on drugs.

no it wasn't, it was a "random" breath test, it was 4am and she had her P plates on so they obviously suspected her of drink driving .. she actually doesn't have very obvious facial signs but her eyes where big which is why he decided to get the drug kit out...

I was surprised that they could test from there patrol cars as well...

^ there is a difference between failing a random roadside drug test, and failing a drug test applied because of specific suspicion (eg - weaving in your lane - and no, not baskets, you drug taking scum!!! ;) ). In Victoria, the former is called "XPCD fail roadside drug test" (or something like that) and the latter is called "drive while impaired" and attracts steeper penalties. Of course, anything you contest will attract a bigger penalty if you lose compared to if you just copped it sweet - that's to stop the courts getting clogged...
