4-Aco-MET, aka metacetin ; 42mg +/-2 orally ; First time ; DMT visuals forever
Me: Male, 30, 140lbs.
Background:
At common dose levels, I get no visuals from MDMA, 2C-C, or 6-APDB; only subtle breathing and warping distortions from LSD, psilocin, ayahuasca, and bk-2C-B; normal visuals from mescaline and MAL; unusually intense visuals from moxy and miprocin; and typically wild visuals from salvia, bufotenine and vaporized DMT. I generally find them less interesting than the psychedelia. These visuals were exceedingly similar in color palette, intensity, and every other way to vaporized DMT or bufotenine, absent the respective heavy cognitive or body component.
Set/setting:
One hour prior, I preloaded with 125mcg of flubromazelam. It was my first time taking a benzodiazepine, but the effects were pretty darn subtle, practically placebo. There are reports of benzos lubricating visuals and reducing body load, insomnia, and comedown dysphoria with 4-Aco-MET. There was also the risk of some cross-tolerance, as I took MAL at what for me was a solid 30mg dose five days prior. Taken at home in a slightly irritated headspace with a friend who was taking 22mg of 4-HO-MiPT (miprocin.)
Timeline:
6pm – 125mcg flubromazolam taken sublingually
7pm – 12mg of a compound sold as 4-Aco-DET weighed and taken orally wrapped in rolling paper (parachuted.)
8pm – 10mg +/-2mg parachuted
9pm – 10mg parachuted
10pm – 10mg parachuted
11pm – Bowl of sub-breakthrough changa smoked
1am – A 5% beer and a 5% cider consumed over the course of the next half hour.
2am – Asleep
Report:
This is a glowing report. Reading other reports, it is clear that my experience was uncommonly good, although a couple reports compare closely with mine. It is also a polydrug report, which could have influenced it. Your mileage may vary.
The comeup was easy. Minimal tremors, no GI discomfort, no anxiety, no disorientation. Slightly altered headspace, not much more psychedelic than coming up on bk-2c-b.
Within roughly thirty minutes, visuals kicked in. The headspace was still quite clear, although my linguistic centers were a little impaired. I felt a little chilly and my body felt sedate, my mind, pleasant. I felt a little like a removed observer. It laked the warm, physical euphoria of 4/5 substituted Mipts., feeling closer to the more detached psilocin perspective.
Colours brightened, patterns popped, and wood grain started roiling. I could tell I would like the experience, that it was friendly and easygoing, and that I wanted it to be stronger. As I increased the dose each time, the intensity gradually and easily notched up. It started with the realization that the hair on my arm was growing, twisting, and turning into undulating rainbow tentacles, helices and ladders tapering to points. Glyphs in purple, green, and blue traversed down my shoulders and across my face in the mirror, while the woodgrain of the wall pushed forth rhythmically into the room.
The colours in a bright painting of a glass of water brightened tremendously, and the water started bubbling, then emerged a foot or so from the canvas. Streamers of translucent pale yellow light poured forth from the ceiling and walls, transforming into curtains. The fur on the cat began flowing onto its perch, first shadowy, then interspersed with neon fibers. Strange crunching, crinkling, and crackling noises were occasionally observed.
Tracers were common, as was the transposition of elements from one scene to another as I turned, like my friends face onto the ceiling or wall. This was in no way overwhelming. I watched the kitchen floor tiles detach, grow small appendages, and crawl single file up the cabinets. Highlights of neon intensity sparked on borders everywhere. Occasionally, golf ball-sized sparkles would decorate my field of vision, like when I was watching the wooden doors melt into the faces of a forest god. Plants appeared to grow, pulsate, and wave their stalks enthusiastically towards the sky, bordered in shining light. Watching television or other media was utterly uninteresting, as the visual fireworks could not manifest on a rapidly changing, brightly lit backdrop. Visuals of this level of intensity persisted until I smoked some changa, which just felt totally right the entire night. The changa integrated seamlessly into the experience, just upping the intensity dramatically. As it wore off, the visuals of the metacetin seemed diminished, and I eventually began to experience the strange buzzes and mental surges (wwwwWWWAMPFFffff) that I typically get from psilocin, as well as occasional background buzzing, probably due to the presence of the harmala alkaloids. The character of the space as it declined became less visual, more dulled and foggy. Dysphoria is often reported on the comedown, but this was more like mushroom fog. It could also have been the dumbing down I frequently feel immediately after DMT, lasting into the next day. As I tired, I felt close to sleep at 1:30, eventually resorting to two beers to find sleep. Waking 6 hours later, I felt tired and spacy, but pretty good. No noticeably aftereffects except for the brain fog.
Overview:
While I don' t generally find purely visual, recreational chemicals interesting, this one is a winner for me. I love the DMT-level visuals without the couchlock. I just hope that others have the same positive experience that I did.
