A friend of mine has inspired me to form this thread as she is presently on a "Wild Rose" herbal detox. She has been doing this detox program for three years now, and she performs the cleanse every six months. The detox is associated with at least 80% alkaline and neutral ash foods with less than 20% (Protein Foods – Acid-Forming) acid ash foods It is strongly recommended that no alcohol be consumed during this program. Although it is best not to drink coffee during this period of time, people can drink a maximum of two cups of black coffee per day. Herbal teas are also acceptable. The program includes consumption of two tablets (or 40 drops) of each product with both breakfast and supper. She says that during the program she is absolutely cranky as she is a food lover just like me. She bears the deprivation of sweets and fatty foods for the program has made her healthier and has eliminated some of her health issues.

I would like to know of other detox programs some of you have undergone as I am interested to try one in the coming months or so. I would also like to know the following:

Why you have chosen the program?

What made it unique from other detox programs?

What benefits health wise have you acquired?

Are you still performing the detox program, for how long and if you will continue in the future.

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

Not to be off topic but congrats on becoming mod.:)

More on topic I know nothing about detox programs. And I've always been interested in them. Are there any good detox programs for getting booze, caffeine and drugs out of my system? Lately I've been feeling very sluggish and un motivated.

Thank you Gr33n3y3z <3

You can try the 28 day detox diet which eliminates sugar, alcohol and caffeine. A diet specifically containing fruits and vegetables are always the best way to go. If it will not be too expensive, you can discuss this with a doctor or nutritionist. This requires a lot of discipline and dedication so you have to be prepared to avoid temptations specially the consumption of alcohol and caffeine.

ive done raw juice detox's in the past and its the only kind of detox i would consider really

its god damn expensive if you do it right, but its worth it if you have the time and money (and a juicer)

the longest I did was around 5 days and you stop craving solid food intensely at around 2-3 days

it made my skin glow, my body felt lighter, my mood was better and I felt a lot clearer

looking at a table full of freshly washed fruit and veg is truly a beautiful sight <3

(also if one was to consider doing a raw juice fast you would want to source the produce from a farmers market / organic shop)
