testing LSD blotter with Ehrlich and Marquis test kits

Hi everyone,

I recently tested a small piece of blotter (2mm x 2mm) with an EZ-test Ehrlich. I put the piece of blotter in the liquid, it started making tiny bubbles for a few seconds (like effervescent vitamins), I added the small granule that was in the cap, then put the cap on the ampoule. I shook it lightly and waited for a color change, but it didn't change color at all after 2 minutes.
I tested another small piece of the same blotter with an EZ-test Marquis, and it turned slightly orangeish / brownish.

Is this the way the tests are supposed to be taken ?
Is it possible that the Ehrlich test didn't work because the paper size was too small, or because I didn't wait long enough ?

This was supposed to be Hoffman bike LSD blotters, but I guess they could be RC's.

I'm not asking for comments as to which product this may be, since ID threads are forbidden, and I understand it could be 25I-NBOMe or others RC's.
Please confirm if I did the testing right, or if I need to try again some other way. This was my first try with the Ehrlich test.

And continue discussion there.

About how to do these tests: is there no leaflet with the test kit that explains it? I think you better not use marquis on the paper itself because it could change the color from a reaction with the blotter paper and make false positives or skew the results otherwise. For example the Marquis test might not be as brownish if you extract the paper first, and test the liquid. To do this let blotter paper soak in a few drops of alcohol so that the liquid takes up the drug, then add reagent to the liquid to see the result.
See if there something proper to use to do the reaction in, something preferably white with a shallow dip (like a spoon) where a minimal amount of liquid can sit without reacting with anything else and where color can be clearly observed.

It's possible that you used too little blotter paper for the Ehrlich but that would mostly mean that there is a very low dose on it to begin with (if it is LSD). However the orange color with Marquis is not a good sign, I think you have a phenethylamine but that is as much as I am willing to say on identification.

Use the information available to make your own judgement calls and draw your own conclusions.

The leaflet that came with the test kit had basic instructions, nothing specific about testing blotter paper.
I'll continue the discussion in the other thread.
Thanks for your answer.
