Well, maybe you shouldn't. I'm not saying don't, but it's always good to look at things from both points of view. Obviously addiction is your worry. Here's how I explain the potential for addiction to meth, as opposed to pills.
During the time you spend on pills, you're distinctly out of it. The strong alteration in your behaviour, physical appearance and mental capacity (eg concentration span) make it hard to go about your daily life and interact with people who you do not want to know about your activities. So for example, you can't really go to work, spend time with the family or go to school. The extatic sense of wellbeing is a stark contrast from reality... To the extent that you know that you can't live your life on pills. The fact that serotonin is a fairly delicate neurological system also means that you simply can't continually take pills, because the more you take, the less effective they get...
Meth is a different story. It is far easier to hide the fact you've had a few lines from your family, co-workers, friends, boss, etc than dumping a pill. The mental effects aren't as excessive - better concentration, no need for sleep and a cruisy euphoria. Physically, the dialated pupils are the only real give aways... A little sweating and restless body language are easily explained. That's one of the reasons it can be easy to get addicited to meth - you can feel good, and usually go about your daily business with few hassles, because the effects aren't as strong or visable to others as pills... Obviously, if you have a shitload, have been up for days or are running through copious amounts of money... Others are more likely to notice. I'm not saying it's impossible to tell when someone is using it, it's just far harder than most substances. The dopamine system is also more robust, and levels regenerate quickly compared to serotonin. This makes using more often possible. With sustained use, you can easily adjust to increased levels of alertness & energy and you might wind up expecting to be at that level of mental alertness at all times... Requiring meth at all times. Your brain & CNS may also adjust to external dopamine stimulation, and dopamine levels might get depleted, meaning when you're not on meth you don't feel as alert or energetic as you should. That's when taking meth would probably make you feel normal, and that's when it's a serious addiction. When you need it to feel normal.
Anyway, I'm thinking out loud here. There's some food for thought.
[edit - I don't regret doing meth, but frankly I find it a boring drug and I've never
really enjoyed it]
Whatever you do, best of luck and stay safe
