Zyprexa vs. Invega?

hello,
i am seeing my county mental doc tomorrow and i have been planning on asking if he thinks that i could switch from Zyprexa to Invega.. i have undifferentiated schizophrenia..
do you guys have experience on both of these?
i take 20mg zyprexa nightly and i feel pretty sedated all the time, also hungry at odd times and i have some of the sexual side effects which all in all just bums me out.. i have been on it for multiple years..
i have read and heard from one BLer that Invega has less severe side effects than Zyprexa..

so, has anyone here made this anti psychotic switch? in 14 hours i will be talking with my doctor, but i thought i might go in armed with a little more evidence if possible..

Don't know Invega, but I tried Zyprexa and I gained 45 pounds in less than 2 months. And I couldn't sleep at all, and my libido was dead. Zyprexa is now prescribed to anorexics too, due to it's nature of letting gain you so much weight...

Now i'm on Abilifiy, and although it's by no means a miracle drug, my life has improved dramatically. No gain weight, no sexual side effects at all, just a little bit of insomnia, nothing severe. And for the first time of my life I'm optimistic.

I don't know if it will work better or not really. It's pretty much a crap shoot with these meds so there is no one best med. Though in my personal experience zyprexa has worked best for my bipolar.

Have you ever had risperdal? Invega is pretty much the same thing just risperdals main metabolite. If you got along good with that you might do really well on invega and ive heard from a few people it has less side effects then risperdal. Why i don't know maybe it's just more selective.

One of the drawbacks of Abilify, though, is that I'm a little nervous like if I had drank ten cups of coffee. And now I have to rebuild my life, it's empty atm and I'm bored. Strange feeling. Yeah, like being sober and having to deal with it (although it's still taking a drug).

i was on Abilify for a long while.. it was not bad, but similar side effects.. also i developed a nerve problem in my arm while taking abilify.. possibly related..

my doctor turns out to be sick today so i have to wait another month to bring this up.......

i don't think i have had repiridol before.. so i don't know how i do with it..
when i started zyprexa i went from 140lbs (skinny from taking meth) up to 285 over a couple years.. now i have been walking and stuff and i am down to around 220...

Alrdy a month on invega, after detox and consultations. Got it to normalize my psyche after 19 years of bad HH, to get rid of cravings... well, it works in that direction, sort of cuts cravings...
