In my head less and less.
When I was in jail, there was a guy across the hallway. I had just learned jailhouse sign language and I taught him. He was a federal inmate and I was just a county. Anyways, we talked about all kinds of stuff with this sign language. I even used it to get a klonopin over to my pod.

He started talking to me about Zen Buddhism. I was open minded. He sent a book over my way. It was great. I only got to read a few pages, the next day my room got shook down and I was moved to a new pod and never saw him, or the book again.

I would REALLY like to read some more on zen buddhism. I would google it, but want to find the right documentation.

Someone show me something please!

ps, I was watching a movie today and the guy was like "Oh, I stay friends with all of my ex girlfriends, kind of a Zen Buddhism thing."

"The Way of Zen" by Alan Watts.

Probably the best writer (interpreter and popularizer) of Zen. Although zen is more about practice then anything else, so i guess the best thing you could do would be to learn how to do zazen. But really Watts is amazing at giving you a feel for this unique and peculiar tradition.

you can easily find a ton of Alan Watts texts free online, either directly with .PDF searches, or with torrents. He also has dozens of collections of talks online if you search...

My favorite book on Buddhism is: "This Is It."

Also, Adyashanti is as adapt as anybody at conveying the Way. YouTube his talks or read "Emptiness Dancing."

Zen And The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance is worth mentioning, and reading. i read this in jail, indecently....and would if i were there again.

still have the same copy, actually -

but what you learned and the inspiration gained from the book you still have - and now so might someone else. i know the feeling, i really do, but the principals it contained are old ones, that i would still continue researching, and building in your life. it will be beneficial none the less to do so.
