Your opinion of rapid detox programs

I googled rapid detox and at the top of the list were these private companies, mainly located in California, which claim to rid you of your opiate dependence by checking you into a hospital for a short period of time, putting you to sleep and doing stuff to you. By the time you come out of it, you're clean, they say. The cost is insanely high, like in the 5 digit range USD. Anyone have experience with these programs?

Nope, but heard of them and they are very very risky. they put you in a coma and there is a chance you might not come out of it. Seems too expensive for the risk to me. I have been clean off dope for 4 days now but taking only half at first of suboxone tab a day now I'm doing quarters a day and I feel great. I wana get high but I guess weed will have to do. stick to suboxones and therapy way cheaper.

Ultra rapid detox is absolutely not recommendable. As janalied said you are pur into a coma and then opiate antqgonists like naltrexone are administered. Within seconds you will go from normal to super intense withdrawal wich does not only take a big toll on your circulatory system but will alsoseverely fuck up your brain chemistry. If you compare the experience of tapering vs. cold turkey withdrawal you know what i'm talking about.

I really qdvise you to save those thousands of dollars and check into a proper detox and rehab program. Counselling and psychologicql treatment ie imho much more important than that hyper urd shit.

I do not understand the name first of all because a detox is not fast. The whole thing sounds really really cruel for anyone to be put through that. So lame.

My sister had one in a private Harrogate clinic, the kind where they lead her to believe she'd be fully unconscious for however long it took for the drugs to flush the opiates out of her system, coming round after a few days miraculously cured and symptom free. It was nothing of the sort of course. They doped her out the first day while they pumped naltrexone into her, usually at this point inserting the Naltrexone implant under the skin, but as she'd refused the implant not a whole lot more was done other than a vitals check every few hours, and denial of her requests for more benzos to help her sleep. It's true that the detox is shorter than it would otherwise be elsewhere because it throws you straight into peak withdrawal, cutting the first couple of days out as you wait for symptoms to come on and get worse, but she was still rattling her tits off at the end of day 5 when she was officially discharged as a cured ex-addict, so whoopidoo, 2 whole days saved at least, one of them being not so bad and the most manageable part of a detox anyways, that will be five thousand pounds please Miss Sepher.

Sepher, these first hand accounts send chills down my spine and reaffirms something I heard the other day this religious guy, he said if God created the world in 7 days then what makes you think anybody can cure this illness in 3? (or something to that effect). I bet she also had to sign some NDA's that opens her up to civil suits if she publically denounced this company too. I have to agree with Banana's point about this procedure being cruel. I believe that VanWeyden's advice about counselling and psychologicql treatment is shared by the general consensus. Lastly, I'd like to give Janalied a proverbial pat on the back for making it 4 days, going on 5 now. In time I hope you'll share your success story that could touch someone else. I'm optimistic because you're participating on bluelight.

I am going to try this form of detox in 10 days , I am not afraid of dying because I am going to anyway if I continue to use and abuse opiates the way I do. I have no money I am borrowing every penny of this . I want information.. because what I am afraid of most is that It wont work. I am tired , I am losing my memory, I spend all my time afarid I will run out of pills and even though I kow the hellish feeling of withdrawl I still eat my meds like candy. For those of u out there that think that methadone is any type of a solution heed my WARNINGS methadone is BAD VERY BAD. At first it seems like a cure from heven then all of a sudden it 4=5 years later and you have peoples telliing you that this is your life and theres nor much anyone can do b"be tough". So if this rapid detox has any chance of working I am all in .

The most important this is what happens AFTER you detox, and the support system you have in waiting in place for you when you (inevitably) want to use again.

All I can say from stopping a drug right away you feel major effeks even weeks after wards. YOu oftenly suffer anxity problems. IF you quit slowly you have long term depreshions but you dont feel all the horrible side effeks as much.

Like I have been of DXM for 6 weeks and suffer from anxity problems even though I only took it 6 times in lower doeses I think this was most likly caused from rapidly stopping but Im not sure.

And this fast detox sounds to good to be true. I meen probaly what their doing is just flushing the drug out of your system I dont belive the addictions go away nore are you like normal after 1 day.

If you really wanna try it the most importan thing like misskins said is to have a therapist or rehab waiting for you outside so even if you want to start again you cant. And you really have to be sure you want to stop like you have to know you want to and you have to be stong. Else all I can say is its worth a try and I wish you luck. !!! <3
