I've been suffering from anxiety for some time now and curious your take on how best to handle.

Does it make more sense to take .5mg of Xanax at bedtime and then another .5mg mid-morning versus taking .75mg of Clonazepam at bedtime? I get there is a difference in my question by .25 but the question is more in general terms. Reason being, I sense Clonazepam makes me lightheaded the next day while Xanax when taken in the past has never caused any dizziness. But maybe I just haven't given Clonazapam enough time to build up in my system and need to give it more of a chance. I've only been on for two weeks. Just an FYI, I fully understand the difference in the two benzo's. Is it possible to have a side effect from Clonazepam but not from Xanax even though Clonazepam has typically been prescribed for longer term anxiety?

Hi there,

I can move your post to Basic Drug Discussion if you like. Chances are, you will get more replies to your inquiries there. :)
Up to you.

Otherwise, my opinion on that would be because Clonazepam has a much longer half-life, you may experience longer or different side effects. But everyone's body is different and processes chemicals differently.

I just joined today and am finding my way around I do hope I'm in the right place. Anyway I been taking .1 Mgs of colonipine 8 x a day my experience with this bento I feel it's the greatest thing in treating anxiety when without my anxiety drops and I'm a mess I've also taken Valium and Xanax but for me k pins are ticket !

It really depends on your situation, everyone's different. Xanax is better for short relief liek a panic attack and other benzo that have a longer half-life like klonapin are better for general anxiety. I dont like klonapin but if I'm in a place where I need long term relief (on a long flight) I'll take valium. I personally prefer ativan because it combines the intensity of xanax but lasts longer.

I agree totally.

oxazepam 30mg day time or etizolam.5 for night time works for me , I find diaz or clonaz too drowsy during the day, best wishes.
