Ok so I have been using heroin regularly for almost six months now an my habits was between 1 and 5 packs a day. I have been trying to dteox at home and everytime I get a little further. My last shot had been nearly 48 hours ago and I had been beginning to feel ALOT better my temp had become more stable and i wasnt chilled/sweating all that bad anymore. Ive been able to curb the RLS with a magnesium, calcium and zinc multi vitamins along with poassium which to my surprise worked extremely well compared to my expectations. So naturally I figured that since the rls was nearly non exsistant I wouls sleep just fine. WRONG. Being very trired and very frustrated i decided to get a seroquel from a friend. It was 300mg so I broke inti 1/4 size pieces. 30 minutes after I had taken one piece I began to feel sleepy it was exciting. I got into bed only to be aoken WIDE awake! so I took another chunk and fell back asleep for about 2 1/2 hours and when I woke this time the rls was intense so I took my vitamin regiment but to my surprise it didnt work :/. At this point I honestly hadnt been feeking to bad. Just frustrated and fatigue from lack of sleep. So a buddy and I drove to the hood and copped three packs and split them. My question is will this set be back at day one with wd or is it just a small step in the wrong direction. I did notice some small things like a histamine reaction which I rarely ever get anymore. The last three times I have used eachtime in between has gitten longer and been less dope. So im just wondering where this will put me tomorrow when im back into wd. I was able to get my hands on 5 50mg trazodone which I hope will be more affective in helping with the insomnia without making the rls worse like the seroquel did. Any input and speculation is appreciated.

Sorry its such a long ramble btw. Im pretty high and it took me forever to type this while nodding lol/

1- both Trazodone and Seroquel will make RLS worse get a benzo, clonidine or tizanidine for RLS..
B- You need to start counting over on your days clean since you used, so yes it did restart your un-soberness. But good thing is w/d's wont be as bad as they were the first time around.. if i were you, i would get some kratom and take a few grams in the morning afternoon and bedtime for a week or two (you won't need to use any H to get rid of cravings because the kratom will take care of those, and all w/d symptoms since it is an opiate itself) And when you stop taking the kratom just take one of the 3 daily doses away each day so day one off kratom just morning and night day two just night day three no kratom.. w/d's will be a lot more milder than H's and you will already have been off H for a week or two so no reason to go back to it, just deal with the minor w/d's of the 2 weeks of kratom. and then you are clean.
Until you start rationalizing use of H and get hooked again.. getting clean is more than just getting off the drug, you need to change your life.

Yeah I understand this. I was clean before for over a year before this last slip up. And to be honest this wouldnt have happened if it werent for some very unfortunate events that happened. I lost my grandmother that raised me and my fiance' within weeks of eachother and then got laid off from work. Anyways I just just curious as to what kind of wd symptoms to expect after this one slip up after the worst part of my wd had subsided.

how small of a relapse are we talking here? a few days, weeks, months?

there are many many wd threads out there with plenty of great information to help you through them, i suggest using the search engine.

here's a few suggestions for your RLS symptoms.

there's a few different medical(prescription) and alternative treatments available for this.

Medical Treatments

one of the original treatments involve a dopamine precursor such as carbidopa/levodopa. there is a big problem with augmentation with these treatments though. these treatments tend to only be effective for a short period of time ranging from 2-3 hours. not the best of options, but an option.

you also have the option of dopamine agonists such as Ropinirole, pramipexole, pergolide and cabergoline though these are not yet available in australia according to the site i grabbed this from. these are newer drugs and are less like to cause augmentation.

next you have the benzo family, particularly clonazepam. the problem? you don't really want to be trading one addiction for another. if you choose benzo's make it a short course.

anticonvulsant drugs like gapapentin and carbamazepine are also available for prescription. not much is known about how these work in RLS, but they may be helpful to people in whom dopaminergic drugs or opiates have not been effective or are contraindicated.

Alternate treatments can range from anything like yoga exercises, acupuncture, massage therapy, herbal medicines (vitamins and minerals). these treatments arent necessarily for everybody and aren't always going to be effective though but are well worth a try. who doesn't like a good massage?

i have a good page bookmarked that i have used in the past. it's an australian site but methods incorporated can be used universally.

the site is here

I stated in my very first post that my relapse was a one day thing and that I did 1 1/2 packs. (approx .15-.17g) Im not looking for anyone to tell me how I need to change my life or methods for detoxing. I have detoxed before and I have used the search engine to read plenty of threads about detoxing. I dont have access to benzos so thats why I said I was using magnesium, cacium, zinc supplements along with potassium to curb the affects of rls which had worked fine until I took the seroquel.

That being said all I wanted to get was some speculation from other members personal expiriences on how far that one shot would set me back in my detox and if Trazodone would help me sleep better without making rls worse like seroquel did. The ladder of which has been ansered.

Not tryin to be a dick but I dont need to be preached to.

The one shot will set you back about a day in the wrong direction however as you had only made it 48hours before using again it almost sets you back to where you started.

kk thanks. I had been getting sick 8-10 hours after my last shot but the last time around it took much longer due to the fact that the last four times ive used now its been nearly 48 hours between uses (a lil longer this last time) and each time I was able to progressively used less dope. And I noticed today my tolerance had subsided considerable from just over a week ago. So I expect my wd symptoms should be a little more mild. I hadnt been feeling too terrible actually. near down right comfortable until I took the seroquel. But I still couldnt sleep which had me stumped. I always thought I couldnt sleep during detox because of the rls. But its apparently something else. :/. Anyways thanks amapola.

dope sick after 2 uses? i think you're experiencing rebound effects, not full blown withdrawals. and dude, i wasn't telling you to change your lifestyle, i offered help:\

Yeah I didnt mean to snap at you. My bad. But I had been using everyday for six months until about a week ago before I started trying to detox everytime I have stopped ive been able to go a little longer and use less dope the next time. so my wd should be pretty mild the next few days since I had gotten thru the worst part of it the last couple times. We'll see anyways lol...

thats cool man. i misread that you'd been using 6 months prior.

if i were you i'd either choose to just go cold turkey or taper down your dose daily so you're not in the limbo of being well and in wd another day. it can play a toll on you physically and mentally.

is a buprenorphine taper a possibility along with the other supplements you're using?

I wish. I currently am laid off from work for the next few months so my med insurance is suspended until I go back. So unless I can get on medicaid I wont beable to afford it. I was able to get some of the streets but both my connects have fallen through recently. I have used subs before though and they work great. I was able you start and completeky taper off in a weeks time with just 4 8mg pills. I have never needed more than 4mg in a 24 hour period. It shocks me how many fplks take the whole 8mg before trying any less. thats potent stuff. So ill keep looking in the meantime. But yeah a bupe taper woukd be ideal. But we'll see, Im thinking by now my wd could be fairly mild.

I often feel like the international kratom-advicate on these boards. But, yes, kratom should be considered. Easy to get, no legal trobles of any real magnitude, and it creates a great mild opiate-buzz, a warm and guilt-free pleasure for WDs. Kratom has saved my life countless times.

check out this thread, man. you might be in luck and eligible.

If your wds didn't subside yet you will have to start all over. You should try going on suboxone and doing a quick taper or something, it will be a hell of a lot easier than trying to quit H cold turker. I did that once and that shit was effing brutal....never again...

So my WD has been Fairly mild so far after the relapse and Ive been pretty comfortable. Didnt sleep too much last night but I think thats cause I took a Trazodone which helped me fall asleep but made my rls worse which kept me up. That combined with my lack of physical activity the last few days. So i'll get on the treadmill today and run a bit. Ill definitely look into kratom.

And thanks for the suboxone asst program leftwing Ill give them a call.
