Will DMT and LSD help me if I have PTSD?

as someone who has been diagnosed with PTSD, and recently pronounced cured, I'd like to chime in with my experience.

I self treated my condition with a few different methods. The most important treatment I found was integrated counseling. This repaired me about 60% (my estimation), over the course of about 1 year. It alleviated my anxiety, stress, manic thoughts, and nightmares, mostly. I feel if I had maintained my therapy I estimate I would be completely healed in another year.

I also tried mushrooms. This failed miserably for me, induced panic attacks, derealization and more mania. From this experience I learned, I couldn't handle ANYTHING stimulant wise. These shrooms were a little on the speedy side.

I live in a MMJ state, so access to high quality herb was crucial. I learned I could not smoke anything stronger than a 50/50 hybrid or pure indica; anything stimy induced panic and anxiety. The right herb will make ALL the difference in keeping your mind where you want it.

Tried 5-meo-mipt. At low doses it was fine, but only gave insight and introspection, no relief from PTSD symptoms. Doses over 8mg would cause problems and I don't recommend it.

After finally getting anxiety under control, I was able to track down mdma, tested it for purity, and on 2 occasions gave myself measured doses of 100mg. I have previously rolled maybe 40 times prior to my traumatic episodes which led to my PTSD. The first dose felt like I was going under a spell or cosmic surgery; the experience floored me, left me unable to move for several hours, so I meditated for what felt like 2 hours, but I fell asleep and awoke the next day, so who knows. Very intense. In the weeks that followed, after a brief period of mild depression (typical mdma hangover) I noticed I felt noticeably "lighter" and happier. My obsessive thoughts diminished greatly.

After 6-7 weeks, I again dosed 100mg. The experience was different than the first time, not so heavy and intensive, and I was even social at times (something that has been greatly diminished since ptsd). Now almost 8 weeks after, I feel human again. My obsessive thought pattern is broken. I sleep pretty well at night, and I can honestly say I'm happy again :)

Its important to note that I would not have been able to take MDMA without getting my anxiety under control first, and counseling was WAY more effective than any pill ever has been for anxiety. During this time period, I have also completely changed my diet & exercise habits, and removed a lot of toxic people from my life. There is no magic bullet for PTSD, but in my experience, mdma has been very helpful in combination with other forms of treatment.

It was used in the late 70's early 80's for psychological councelling. I did not know it was used today. You'd need to be with a trained professional though through out. Someone who will not judge you or ever reveal personal info etc. Do you know of any publications of recent use for PTSD treatment for war vets etc? It'd be interesting to read :). BTW it still means 20% remain unresponsive to treatment. But 8 out of 10 is a favorable ratio. To the OP I'd be very cautious about using a substance period for the first time with the intent of dealing with PTSD especially without the aid of a trained professional.

Just had to get to a computer with a functional keyboard :)

It's a part of MAPS research http://www.maps.org/ it's kinda their jewel I think. The 8 out of 10, I got from a show on the TV. I think variuos studies has been conducted, so there might be slight difference. I really don't like the MAPS website, so you have to look for stuff yourself, It's just bad layout. But it's all there somewhere ;)
I think most importantly, it must be someone who knows the drugs in use, and yeah, an accepting person also. There's no training for this, it's all experimental (in modern society). But someone who knows what will come up in dealing with trauma. Like, when you read Nj5227 post
I also tried mushrooms. This failed miserably for me, induced panic attacks, derealization and more mania

This is coming up and out, but he avoids by trying to control the experience. It's the loss of control that heals. This is what psychs do so good. You go out of your mind :D But even without this knowledge, two doses of MDMA did wonders. It's potent as fuck

Yeah okay, maybe not idiot. I don't know the guy ofc. It just sounds a little bit like it

Very nice post Jesus :)

GM; LSD can be traumatizing http://www.erowid.org/chemicals/lsd/lsd_basics.shtml so it's not the exact same as with shrooms

lovepsychadelics; MDMA has had a 80% success ratio in treating non-treatable war-vets. So it seems to be working just fine. But yeah, preferably with someone accepting on the side. Not someone who says "stop crying" or "cheer up" :D

you are right, and so can mushrooms. once you enter into the world of classic psychedelics, the same rules apply for each particular substance. sure, if you are having a bad time it is over more quickly with mushrooms, but if you are having a good time, it will last longer with L. plus, who is to say which substance is more rewarding? i tend to like acid more, you probably like mushrooms more, but they are in the same class and both should be treated with the same amount of respect.
