Hello everyone,
I have been doin meth for about 4 months now I do it everyday and still manage tO control it by taking the right amount of hits to be able to eat and sleeP. My wife docent know I do meth. She says that some guinea in my sleep I wake up but still asleep? Weird. The first time she told me that I was sleeping she came into the room and said that I got up and said" babe my theta feel out" so she responded no there all, so I guess I oPen my mouth and said " look yOu see there gOne" and after I said that I put my head down and kept sleeping. I don't remember any of this. Another time I was sleeping and she came in the room and i called her a bith and went back to sleep. I dnt know how it's happening and how my body knows when she comes in the room. Just today she came in the room and said that I called her name and that my eyes were rolling like if I was possessed by a spirit like the movie exorcist and that I was talking weird and coulnt understand me so she left the room freaked out. I don't remember any of this and I'm freaked out. I dnt even wanna sleep tonight because I'm scared of doin something in my sleep. I'm no longer gonna get high. I would rely appreciate your thoughts of my situation
Thank you

I was doing coke alot this one night and when I went to sleep my girl said I did alot of crazy shit while I was sleeping and it scared the shit out of her. I also notice when I do coke I have really fucked up disturbing dreams..

The drug use is definately the cause of this for me thats for sure. Im sure its the same case with you.

This isn't really a trip report so it might get closed or moved.

It sounds bad mate, I have no experience with meth and I don't know how you managed to smoke it everyday for 4 months without your wife noticing but I think it's clear its not healthy. It induces psychosis in some people who are long term addicts, this may be the beginning. What if you did something crazy without realising? Such as hurt your wife? Surely that should scare you enough into quitting completely.

People can do weird stuff in their sleep regardless of drugs, but if it only started since you've been doing meth then that seems like a likely explanation. If you're it using it every day then the quality of your sleep is probably going to be disturbed. There's not really much to suggest except cutting back to see if that helps. Or you can even just start by stopping earlier in the day. Even if you don't "high" when you fall asleep it still be very much affecting you.

Yeah, meth stays in the system for quite a while after the last dose; up to 12-14 hours if eaten. Regardless of the cause, based on the kind of language in your post alone I'd strongly recommend that you cut back or quit altogether. It's clearly doing you no good at the very least, and a whole lot of harm at worst.

Check this out for some specific support. Best of luck to you!

Hi Str8stang, sorry to hear that you and your gf are freaked out about this. Sleep disorders can indeed be very alarming and confusing.

Amphetamines are one of the most reknowned recreational substances to cause sleep disorders. The risk of experiencing things like sleep paralysis, night terrors and regular nightmares are all vastly increased after using amphetamines. I'm not sure of the exact mechanism of this in the brain but from all the anecdotal accounts I've read on here over the years, there is a clear link.

It's great you're not going to use meth, give it a break and see if you have any other weird experiences when you're sleeping. You might still have some more symptoms e.g. talking in your sleep, disrupted sleep patterns etc for a week or two after you stop using meth so if it doesn't subside straight away, just wait it out a couple of weeks. Hopefully your sleep will return to normal soon.

If it doesn't however, you can always consider seeing a sleep specialist doctor. But I imagine that would be quite expensive and for something like what you're experiencing would be just for curiosity purposes.

Keep us updated :)

The good news is that if you stop doing meth this will most likely subside. If that isnt an option then you could start knocking yourself out with benzos but thats not a long term solution because as you know thats a hell of an addiction on its own. Whatever you do stay away from ambien and zolpidem as they are known to cause sleep walking sleep driving and crazy shit like that. Goodluck

Thank you all for you great advice, I stop smoking meth as of last night. I feel great just a lil tired and some minor back pain. I'm glad I stopped and don't plan on goin back on it. Quiting is not as hard as I thoug. Just one more question are my withdraw gonna stay like this nice and calm I feel like I dnt even need the drug and my back pain seems to be getting a lil stronger everytime I wake up?

Check out the thread that I've linked. From what I've heard, you'll probably be in for a tougher time than just a little tired and a sore back, but you may be one of the lucky ones that don't get much of a withdrawal syndrome.

Yeah I agree with Dave. I'm always a little tired the first day, then completely fatigued the second, and I usually don't want to get out of bed by the third day. I have to force myself to get up and get some exercise. It's really the only thing that gets my energy levels back to normal.

Also be prepared to deal with some nasty cravings. Not saying it will happen for sure, but just know it's a possibility. I've found it's helpful to read up on the possible withdrawal symptoms. That way you're better prepared to handle it if something does pop up.

But anyway best of luck to you. Stay strong.
