Misc Why would a different brand feel different?

Recently got two different brands of the same medication. Second one induces a mild covid-like feeling in the background and puts a strange chemical smell in my nose, although it's not that bad. And the buzz doesn't feel the same as the first one. It's not as buzzy—like the second batch of salsa was made with weak, watery onions.

I've experienced this numerous times with different pharmaceuticals, but only American ones, never Indian or Canadian ones. I'm not sure what's behind it necessarily, just wanted to echo a common experience.

ChatGPT's take, for what it's worth.

🧪 How Polymorphs Can Feel Different:

1. Onset of Action

- One polymorph might hit you within 30 minutes, another over 2 hours.

- That changes the subjective "rush", especially with stimulating drugs like Parnate.

2. Peak Levels in Blood

- Some polymorphs lead to higher plasma concentrations, creating a stronger buzz or more side effects.

3. Duration

- A more slowly dissolving polymorph might linger longer, with a more drawn-out effect.

4. Side Effects

- If one polymorph is less soluble, some of it might irritate the stomach or nasal passages,
causing that "chemical nose" sensation or "mild Covid-like" feeling you described.

Different fillers and inactive ingredients are in various types of generics, but the active ingredient would be the same. Perhaps you had some kind of reaction to the fillers and/or inactive ingredients.
