Why rolling - I've searched and there are far too many references.
I've heard it called many things, but never rolling till I found Bluelight.
ALso, what's the deal with Ultra Bluelighter/bluelighter?
Thanx

Hi there bent...welcome to our world hee hee

Rolling is the term American's use for pilling. There are so many American's on this board that the term has infiltrated the Aussie discussion as well. As much as I dislike the term, it descibes exactly what we're on about and everyone knows what we mean!
An ultra bluelighter is a new memberlike yourself. Once you've posted a number of times (I think it's 20) you'll become a regular bluelighter like the rest of us.
Welcome

much as i hate using such an american term, the lovely miss apples is right, its such a perfect description of the feeling of uncontrollable eye rolls and waves of pleasure rolling over you... americans use it as a noun as well, calling pills rolls... i think thats a bit silly... and dont get me started on plur, one the most overused and least sincere thoughts in raveland...
pesonally i love this disection of the word:

I spent my summer (well, winter actually) working/living/snowboarding up in Colorado (hey, it's a hard life, but some of us have to do it). Anyway, I was introduced to "rolling" up there, and the word, to me anyway, seemed so appropriate to the feeling you get when on a good... err... "roll". So rolling it is then!

at least no-one in here uses 'bLOw dA fUk uP!!'

ultimately, we just want to be happy

i never heard it called rolling 'til i came here either, i had always referred to taking e as "dropping" or occasionally "popping" (as in pill popper). unfortunately, "dropping" sounds like ypu're doing acid, and plain old "doing e" takes too long to say, and is too easily decifered by family members and workmates, so we pretty much always use "rolling" now.
maybe we could make up a new name for it. any suggestions? also, i'm interested to know what term other people in Oz use.

"would you like to learn to fly?
would you like to see me try?"

A common dialog while I'm out with the guys I know would be:
e1 - "How are you travelling..."
e2 - "Ohhh yeeeaaaaaa......"
Dunno where the 'travelling' bit came from, but it would be equiv. to "how's your roll?" - and the "Ohhhh yeaaaa" usually means that you can't manage to say anything else

Actually I used to use the term 'pilling' or 'pilled up', but I've sort of adopted rolling now as well...ahhh, the influences of America

cheers,
hux - who needs to get a sig. one of these days...

After coming here I use rolling as well to describe taking an E, but I prefer to say shit like "Time to get Luved Up".
But when talking about E I call it my Vitamins, cause even though mummy knows I take E she does not have to have it thrown in her face.
Just like when I used to smoke pot I would say to my mum I was just going to a friends place to play the Playstation. Argh but pot is bad for you and e's are full of calcium and iron to make me big and strong.

Friends use Disco Biscuit to talk about e.

We've always used the term "flying" -
as in : "how ya doing ?"
"I'm flying
biggrin.gif
"
seemed appropriate

But we use rolling a lot now ... the yanks are conquering the world through media saturation

>insert witty comment here<

The bicky is in the mail.
We've been using the term "Spangled" or "Spoonshaped" as I think this best describes being off ya chops

No need to knock PLUR...I use it at the end of my posts and I use it with an intention...I want everyone to genuinely think about PLUR and try and live by it (or RULP if it'll make people happier)...
When I first saw PLUR I thought it to be one of the most ridiculus things that I ever came accross...but then I seriously thought about it and decided that ultimatlely that was what I wanted to project...now those four words are not easy to live by I know...but we can all only try...

It gets quite interesting when Liz, Mary & Anne all come around for a bit of a party. Never met a more fun-loving bunch of women
