Why I don't want to sleep?

I was taking amphetamines daily for 4 months. Not meth. My face is permanently changed, I believe due to low sleep.

My face is PERMANENTLY changed.

Sleep. Or you'll regret it later. Baggy eyelids 24/7, dark eyes, wrinkles..... it's fucking terrible.

You've been warned. You will regret it.

I don't think so man, you are probably in horrible shape therefore look horrible, it's pretty simple. People used to tell me this when I did lots of stimulants
However it dissappeared after a break, lots of food and some regular excercise.

Ever since I quit shooting dope I have this same problem. When I was a kid I had intense phobias and panic right before going to bed but when I was 15 or so and started doing drugs that all smoothed out

Now I feel it's unrelated cuz the feeling is quite different. Now it's like going to sleep is depressing or something. Might have to do with the fact that I have nasty intense dreams/nightmares when sober. Who knows.

Good luck

I always have a high resting pulse, this annoys me so much when I try to sleep, all I can feel/hear (except my tinnitus ofc) is the damn heartbets. Feels like it's gonna pop out of the chest at any moment. Well, not really, but it is fucking LOUD. It is much more annoying than the tinnitus at least, that I've had for so many years I tend to forget about it.

man, i wish that when i laid down to sleep i woke up rested. and i wish sleep ever lasted longer than three hours.

have you ever tried a white noise machine? i have to listen to music generally to counteract my tinnitus.

I listen to music mostly and no I haven't, but to be honest it isn't really bad, some nights it can be annoying but otherwise I mostly don't think about it really. I usually fall asleep with ipod on.

I am not currently on any medications from the doctor. Personally I hate the idea of having to take something daily. This could very well come from being an addict for so many years.
Anyway, I knows its easier said than done, but i think as long as you have a decent diet and stay active during the day, you should have no trouble sleeping. Personally, bed time is my favorite part of the day. I LOVE sleeping.
I used to have some mild issues, like napping too much and not being able to fall asleep for whatever reason. But I have found once I cut out all the chemicals i was putting in my body and made myself follow a daily routine, I had no problem falling asleep within 15-30 min of laying my head down and sleeping all the way through the night.

I know this is not an option for a lot of people, but if there is anything unnatural you are doing that you could cut out I would think it would be very beneficial. I'm no Dr though..

michael I hope the sleep study helps you out...

it sounds like you not only can't stay asleep, you also fall asleep without intending to? And can't necessarily fall asleep when you like? What have you tried? I have bad sleep habits, but they are usually under my control - I can't imagine!! Good luck
